Wow, I haven't even done laundry to start packing yet...

Tomorrow I've got about three hours between work and class.. so I thought I'd run all my cruise-related errands and try to get some stuff accomplished?

guess not! Chase overnighted me a package that says I have to go here and get a drug screening and over there to get fingerprints!!!! AND I have to pay for it (with what money? I get paid tomorrow but that was my cruise money ) ANNND.. it has to be done within 24 hours of receiving the package. What? I don't have time to do it now, as I work tonight.. and I open tomorrow. I don't get off until 3:30. I CAN'T do it within 24 hours.

Seems a bit strict, doesn't it? And I think she should have told me I'd have to pay BEFORE sending it to me.. I could have told her, hands down, I won't even have the money within 24 hours of receiving it. Crazy.

Call her and tell her your predicament and maybe they can work something out. That does not seem right usually the company pays for it. Good Luck!

As an HR professional I have NEVER heard of a company requiring you to pay for your own drug test or criminal background check. That sounds very SHADEY to me. If you are hired do they reimburse you? If not, that would send some serious red flags.

The fact she didn't tell you at the time of offer also raises some flags.
