Oh those are not spiders...those are TARANTULAS!!! There was one in a jar in my AP biology class once and I was like ahhhh there's a tarantula! My teacher said it was a wolf spider. There was no way you could call that thing a spider!LCTsMom said:Yup, THOSE are the spiders we have HERE! Wolf spiders or something like that. Hairy and HUGE! Goodness, I'm hyperventilating reading your story and I have to leave to take DD to school & volunteer. ACK! See you all later! AAAACCCCKKKKK![]()
That's weird. We were there for the first ever pirate night and I thought I was pretty set with just my goofy pirate ears...but then we saw people that had gone all out! Wench customes, kids in very authentic pirate customes, it's was amazing!suzannef said:Sundaynight-cruise casual

I'm pretty sure that is the line up. We didn't see anyone overly dressed up at all. And truthfully didn't see anyone dressed up for pirate night but that was last May and it was a relatively new thing. HTH![]()
LCTsMom said:I did get a chance to speak to someone in the attendance office at the high school today. She told me to write a note explaining the absence and have the kids take it down to the attendance office first. She'll sign off on it and then they bring it to each of their teachers who will sign off and put together a packet of makeup work. Sounds good to me.After reading some of the horror stories that other DIS folk experience when requesting the excused absence, I'd say we're pretty lucky!

Yeah I guess I should have grabbed my shoe instead, it was right there. But they were my brand new pirate boots and I just decided I didn't want spider guts on them. Now I have a spider loose somewhere in my room...

See that's what I'd normally do, but the dang thing was so close to the stereo, I thought if I didn't deal with it immediately, it would run away behind it. Sad thing is it did that anyway...Blackunicorn said:You're braver than me! I would have screamed until someone came to rescue me.![]()

Yeah I was on the Magic. It was the first 10 Night Disney Magic Christmas Cruise in 2004. There were a lot of firsts on that cruise!suzannef said:Were you on the magic? I think lots of people dress up on the 7 day and only a handful on the 4 day. Although that may have changed since last May.

It's fun. They give out candy, they give you bags and you trick or treat throughout the park. Lots of people are in costume. You get a complimentary photo. It's similar to the Very Merry but with a Halloween theme instead. Like you said though, it's another expense. Tough call.Blackunicorn said:Morning, guys!![]()
I just found out that Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party starts on our last night in the parks. I thought I had read that someone had gone to this before. Is it something that's not to be missed? We're really hesitant to add another expense to the trip. Do they give out candy?
Thanks!
