How are the evening temps in Florida been lately? Here in NJ, it has been very cool in the evening's high 60's...I am planning on doing some swimming at AKL when we come home from the parks...I hope its not cooling off there also...

Yup, THOSE are the spiders we have HERE! Wolf spiders or something like that. Hairy and HUGE! Goodness, I'm hyperventilating reading your story and I have to leave to take DD to school & volunteer. ACK! See you all later! AAAACCCCKKKKK :sad2:
Oh those are not spiders...those are TARANTULAS!!! There was one in a jar in my AP biology class once and I was like ahhhh there's a tarantula! My teacher said it was a wolf spider. There was no way you could call that thing a spider!

Sundaynight-cruise casual
Mondaynight-dressy night(not formal)
Tues.night-pirate night
Wed. night-cruise casual

I'm pretty sure that is the line up. We didn't see anyone overly dressed up at all. And truthfully didn't see anyone dressed up for pirate night but that was last May and it was a relatively new thing. HTH :goodvibes
That's weird. We were there for the first ever pirate night and I thought I was pretty set with just my goofy pirate ears...but then we saw people that had gone all out! Wench customes, kids in very authentic pirate customes, it's was amazing!

I did get a chance to speak to someone in the attendance office at the high school today. She told me to write a note explaining the absence and have the kids take it down to the attendance office first. She'll sign off on it and then they bring it to each of their teachers who will sign off and put together a packet of makeup work. Sounds good to me. :thumbsup2 After reading some of the horror stories that other DIS folk experience when requesting the excused absence, I'd say we're pretty lucky! :thumbsup2

My son's teacher was awesome about it. We get up to 10 unexcused absences per year. He is only out when he is sick and I usually have a doctor's note so those are excused.

She isn't making him make up anything that didn't count as a grade so I thought that was cool!

but I am looking forward to meeting everyone! :grouphug:

Morning, guys! :sunny:

I just found out that Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party starts on our last night in the parks. I thought I had read that someone had gone to this before. Is it something that's not to be missed? We're really hesitant to add another expense to the trip. Do they give out candy?

Thanks!

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL 530 AM EDT MON AUG 14 2006

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

A TROPICAL WAVE ACCOMPANIED BY A WEAK AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF THE WINDWARD ISLANDS. DEVELOPMENT...IF ANY...SHOULD BE SLOW TO OCCUR AS THE SYSTEM MOVES WEST- NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH OVER THE NEXT DAY OR TWO.

A VIGOROUS SURFACE LOW PRESSURE AREA IS PRODUCING NUMEROUS SHOWERS
AND HEAVY SQUALLS BETWEEN THE WEST COAST OF AFRICA AND THE CAPE
VERDE ISLANDS. WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 50 MPH HAVE BEEN REPORTED WITH
THIS SYSTEM TODAY. ALTHOUGH ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS ARE ONLY
MARGINALLY FAVORABLE FOR ANY SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENT TO OCCUR...A
TROPICAL DEPRESSION COULD STILL FORM BEFORE THE SYSTEM REACHES THE
CAPE VERDE ISLANDS TOMORROW. INTERESTS NEAR THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS
SHOULD CLOSELY MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS SYSTEM AS IT MOVES
WEST-NORTHWEST TO NORTHWESTWARD AT 15 TO 20 MPH
.
popcorn:: :listen:

A BROAD NON-TROPICAL LOW PRESSURE AREA IS LOCATED SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES EAST OF THE NORTHEASTERN FLORIDA COAST. SOME SLOW DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM IS POSSIBLE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AS IT
REMAINS NEARLY STATIONARY.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH TUESDAY.

Yeah I guess I should have grabbed my shoe instead, it was right there. But they were my brand new pirate boots and I just decided I didn't want spider guts on them. :sad2: Now I have a spider loose somewhere in my room... :guilty:

You're braver than me! I would have screamed until someone came to rescue me. :rotfl:

Very cute hair cute! :goodvibes

Love the hair!!!! I have no chin so can't wear short hair styles. Use my hair to give the illusion of a chin. :lmao:

Were you on the magic? I think lots of people dress up on the 7 day and only a handful on the 4 day. Although that may have changed since last May.

See that's what I'd normally do, but the dang thing was so close to the stereo, I thought if I didn't deal with it immediately, it would run away behind it. Sad thing is it did that anyway... :sad2:

Yeah I was on the Magic. It was the first 10 Night Disney Magic Christmas Cruise in 2004. There were a lot of firsts on that cruise! :goodvibes

It's fun. They give out candy, they give you bags and you trick or treat throughout the park. Lots of people are in costume. You get a complimentary photo. It's similar to the Very Merry but with a Halloween theme instead. Like you said though, it's another expense. Tough call.
