I'm back . . . I can not wait to see this guy! Both on the cruise and in the parks! Okay, so I can't wait to see "those" guys! ;)

I began packing and I'm having wardrobe issues already. I haven't mixed and matched a thing. I already know that I'm going to overpack (and I've only picked out clothing for the 4 evenings)! :guilty:

Somebody PLEASE help me out here . . . to be a nerd, or not to be a nerd, that is the question. We've probably already had this discussion, but I'm losing confidence in my plan. Should my family wear the matching red Mickey Hawaiian shirts that I bought (remember there are 5 of us and my children are 12, 12, and 10) or should I take them back ? (REALLY be honest)

Vacation is the one time my family indulges my need for geeky matching clothes. I insist on it, and they do it to keep me from going over the edge and making them pose for Christmas cards. I haven't found this year's outfits, but last year we had blue tropical Mickey shirts & dresses. In 2004 we all had red Mickey t-shirts. People comment on them, but they don't point and laugh so it's all good. :thumbsup2

Of course, I guess we've already proven that we're huge geeks because we're wearing costumes on pirate night, too...

Hey, Dawn.. :wave2:

I'm headed to bed.. I work at noon.. until close..
Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Oh yeah Lisa I have to give you this one too:

I've been trying to find where we've had a discussion about pirate night. What was the consensus on that? Will many be dressing piratey?

I think we will be casual pirates.....I'm wearing my skull and crossbones t-shirt and likely just some black capris, while DH has an eyepatch and a clip-on gold hoop earring. Plus the bandanas! pirate:

What to message him? ;)

"Your dad thinks we need to get married so you'll get out of his house.. what day is good for you?"

hahaha... they're WEIRD looking.
We opened the box we were courtesy shipped tonight.

They look smaller, but they hold the same amount. Difference being you could *stuff* the old one and this one you can't.. We tested. We're lame, we know.

They're called the "Frypod"

The frypod! Wow. That's.......wow. :confused3

Some days, I feel like I'm 19, others I feel like I'm 100! The funniest part is that I meet a lot of moms who are younger than me and act waayy too frumpy. I don't ever want to be frumpy. Yikes! I like the same music that my kids do. My 6 year old never knew a nursery rhyme but she could rock out to Linkin Park with the best of 'em. ;) (I LOVE Linkin Park!!!! Ask poor Logan & Conor who have to hear me singing to their music all the time! Mighty scary! )

That will be me and DH as parents. Our kids will be like...."Dad, can I have a turn on the Xbox now, please?" And he'll be like "wait, I just have to kill three more zombies".

I don't think I could pull off frumpy. I don't even know how I could get frumpy, my hair isn't thick enough to poof and it's too hot to wear a sweatshirt. :rotfl:

DH and I have made a solemn pack never to have a minivan. I guess we'll see how long THAT lasts after we have more than one! :teeth:

I think she said that 4 times was a mile, and the article said that I think 26.5 miles is a marathon? So *whips out her calculator* that 106 times around. You'd be good and rip-roaring drunk from those shots!

and rip roaring dizzy from running in circles that much. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I say wear them, if the family actually wants to. BECAUSE you can't get away with it anywhere else but at Disney. Right? Plus, it's cute for pictures. Now, if everyone is not on board, I would say take them back.

I am a guilty overpacker as well. But DH is no help. I set aside THREE dresses, knowing full well I will only wear two (formal night and Palo), and he asks me "you're not taking the white one?"
So now I'm bringing four. *sigh*

I'm going to have to whittle it down a bit. There are only two of us! We don't need that much! But then I try and get all practical like "what if I spill something, what if something gets wet/dirty, what if I get all sweaty" etc. So when you see the childless couple with 4 suitcases, you will know that is us. :rotfl:

Psh, and here I'm thinking "Oh, god.. I'm almost 20 and what have I done?!"

I'm amazed I'm not going to be a teenager anymore and I still feel like I'm 12 at times..

I'm 31, and I still feel like a college student sometimes. Seriously, the only thing that changes with age is others' perceptions of you. I expected a big bang when I hit 30, and instead I got a cold and missed out on the birthday altogether.

The only way I have changed since my early 20's is that I have more confidence in who I am.

I think also working with my patients has changed my perception of age. When we get a 65 year old with a hip replacement, we consider them "young". And when we get a 21 year old paraplegic, we know their lifespan has just shortened dramatically. So it's all about perspective.

Oprah had this show where people in their 50's wrote letters to their younger selves, and I think all of them had the same theme - don't worry about all of these little things (especially getting older), and have more confidence in yourself. It's so true! I'm still a kid at heart, I just have a little more experience now. And so much more to come.

I don't know quite where I was going with all of that! I think I need more tea. :surfweb:

Oh, and by the way......

Two weeks from now I will be dragging DH into the shower so that we can leave for the port already!!!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

your light is not out yet!

Does my light ever go out, usually? :confused3
I almost always leave the browser window open.

My laptop is slowly dying a death. I was going to get it repaired but stuff kept happening and I kept losing track of time and I doubt Toshiba is going to pay to repair it now. I'll find out, after the cruise, since it needs to go with me.
Anyway.. point.. if I shut it down, it might not ever start back up again... :rotfl:
That seems to be when I have the most problems with it. So it stays on for daaaays at a time, which I'm sure is not good for it.. but I plan (and this new job will help) on trying to get money together to just get a new one. This one has had tooo many problems for me to depend on it for my online classes anymore.. :guilty:

It's sad, I fought for the thing. I inherited it.. sorta.

Oh well. Pointless story is over. I'm gonna take Rink and go watch a movie before work now.. haha :happytv:

Good Morning! :sunny: Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! It was fun....anything with a pirate theme is fun to me! :rotfl2:

My mom was one of the older moms when I was growing up, and yet she was NEVER frumpy! She'll be 75 this year. You'll all meet her on our cruise, you will never believe her age! She's very cool (even if she drives ME crazy! ) I'm hoping it means that I don't have frumpy in my blood. My kids and I like the same music and I LOVE their taste in clothes. It's all good. (Of course, this may ALL change by the time DD is a teenager. :lmao: ) There is that line though, that I don't want to cross. There are those other moms who try to look like they're 16 when they obviously are NOT. THAT is just as scary as frumpy!
