Tae Ja, did you remind everyone to go back to your saved spots and read that you actually posted something there? :rotfl2: I knew you'd do that. :thumbsup2
IDEA???? On one of our cruises, the coordinators of these events kept going into their original posts on page one and updating the info there. Whenever we needed to find info about gifts or meets we would just check page one. Just a thought.

As I posted before,my 11 yr anniversary is Saturday. In past years, I have done things like make a 4'x8' Anniversary card (from a sheet of sheetrock) painted hearts and stuff and screwed it to the telephone outside our house..another year I made smaller signs stating that I love my wife and put them on several telephone polls along her route home from work..Last year I got 10 large mylar heart balloons and staked them all out on the front lawn while she was at work. Now that I have done this, my wife expects something out of the ordinary every year, which is not easy..I am coming up blank and running out of time...
any ideas?? :grouphug:

Put little love notes every where. in her cosmetic drawer, lingere drawer, in the pocket of the outfit she'll wear that day, in her purse (bill fold, coin section), send her a voice mail on her cell phone. get the point/??Everywhere. I'd love stuff like that. In her car even, if you can get to her work that would be even better almost like icing on the cake.

Well, I would be your friend!!!!

I am bringing stuff to make Tropical Lifesavers. Very yummy foo-foo drinks (as DBF calls them :rolleyes1 ) that are perfect for a Caribbean cruise
Can you share the recipe now for those who might like to make them for an I MISS THE WONDER episode? :sail:

I like what TaeJa said. I would add this although it's not exactly like you have done before. How about a scavenger hunt where she gets little tokens of your affection at each stop and the clue for where to go next. The end will be a romantic dinner, maybe a carriage ride or some ultra corny romantic date kind of thing. :lovestruc (we love that stuff) At each clue/stop she could get parts of a poem you wrote or little tokens like a CD burned with "your songs".

I have NEVER experienced this kind of romance so in defense of your wife, if I did I would be extra greedy and want more. Maybe that's why no one has ever done it before :confused3 :rotfl: Kevin sends me flowers for no reason and poety here and there and I adore him. Who knows what would happen at this level of gush? ;) :cloud9:

There are two versions. This is the one I had at a bar in Palm Beach:

3/4 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
3/4 oz Malibu Rum
1/2 oz Absolut Citron
2 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Sour mix
1 splash 7-Up

Mix well and pour over ice in tall glass.

Here is another version that has less ingredients. This is the one I will try out for the cruise prior to sailing. If it tastes as yummy, then for obvious reasons I will go with this:

Ingredients:
3/4 oz Midori melon liqueur
3/4 oz Malibu rum
Fill with Pineapple juice

Mixing instructions:
Fill glass with ice. Then add the Malibu and Midori. Then fill the remainder of the glass up with Pineapple Juice. Shake and enjoy!!

If I stick with the one I know then my big bottle of Absolut will be Citron which is cool cause I like that flavor. If the second one is good then I will probably bring Mandrin Absolute or the Ruby Red flavor.

Choices choices!

My DD's theme is a flip flop party. It is a pool party.
I have been having a nice time checking out the M&Ms site and found they have ideas for a beach party just before I read your post.

You may have all your plans made, but in case you need another idea--maybe there will be something here that your DD will like.

Just got back from taking DS13 to the mall (to trade some video games for new ones). I couldn't resist popping into the DISNEY Store. They had the cutest clothes for DD6!!! I fell in love with a POTC hoody for myself. It was hard to walk away.

Bill, I'll tell you what my husband did as a proposal, it always makes the ladies fawn and it could be used for any situation. We had a trip planned to Chicago to visit some friends, and we went to the Chicago Historical Museum because there was a "photography exhibit" going on. When we got there, he led me up to the exhibit which turned out to be his work - he had a photo taken of himself holding a sign that said 'Erica, will you marry me?" which he matted, framed, and mailed to our friends who had connections at the small museum. It was wonderful, and it blew me away.

I miss the Fort Myers Mall. That is the only thing about Fort Misery I miss but I do miss it. Especially Burdines and the Disney store

Bill, Congratulations on your anniversary, what a great accomplishment.

It can be tough making relationships work (especially if you're sleeping with one eye open so you won't be smothered in your sleep :lmao: )

I think I remember you saying that you guys were going to Atlantic City and going to dinner and some slot playing at the Tropicana?

I don't know if you can afford it or not, but maybe if you can find a sitter you could just surprise your wife with a night there? Nice romantic time away from the kids and all.... You could still go get your drinks at the beach bar and then when she thinks you guys are getting ready to head back home you could take a little detour to the room....or give her a card with the room key in it, I'm sure you can think of some creative way to get her to the room...

I went to their website and tried to see if they have any sort of honeymoon or romance packages but I didnt see anything special. Maybe if you got a dozen roses (nice for this anniversary since you've been married 11 and then have an extra rose for your "love to grow on" ) and have them waiting in the room.

Anywho, I don't know if that is within your budget or not, but would probably surprise her greatly (especially if you had chapagne, or her favorite alcoholic beverage, chilling in the room)

And, boy wouldn't it surprise her if you even went to the trouble to pack the overnight bag with clothes in it for her for the next day :thumbsup2

Some of the most romantic gifts though don't even have to cost anything, but if you are looking to actually spend some money since it sounds like you don't want to make the same, "you dont have to buy me anything" kind of mistake again, ;) maybe this would work for you.

I'm sure whatever you come up with will be great! Sounds like you have been very romantic in the past.

To be honest though, if I were your wife, I think I would be most in love with you during those times when you're out there fishing with the boys or dancing at the Girl Scout party with your daughter.... very sweet.

Congratulations!

I haven't read the updated spacer posts, but......I will DEFINATELY be there on 80's night with my friends in tow. In fact, I need to tell them about this board so they can introduce themselves too! I don't know if we will make any of the other meets, as we are using this opportunity to spend lots of time with them (they live several hours away from us now). Didn't want anyone to think we are antisocial, because DH is definately the opposite! ;)

We're also doing the late dining, so if anyone else is you can feel free to link reservations with us! Oh......and we are planning on chasing the alcohol. Beer tasting, martini tasting, you name it. We'll be there. :teeth:

Jan - you're a PT? I'm at OT! :thumbsup2

Ok - time to watch the DCL special I DVR'd...... :woohoo:

Bill,

Congratulations!

I don't know what your budget is but maybe a helicopter ride over the city and then have something written on top of one of the buildings. Give us an idea of what limits you want to set as far as money otherwise I have some real expensive things you could do. :rotfl:

My DH and I were set up on a blind date. He called me a couple days before the date to ask if I liked to fly. I am terrified to fly but I did not want to tell him that. My DH is a pilot and he took me up in a little 2 seater helicopter for our first date. He knew I was scared but neither of us said anything until afterwards. Needless to say, It worked out great we just celebrated our 13 anniversary.

Burdines is now Macy's. The mall is getting a complete overhaul of it's exterior. Lots going on in our area. Bonita/Estero is growing by leaps and bounds, new malls, movie theaters, everything....so they're trying to revamp our end because everyone is gravitating that way. In the past year we've gotten 4 or 5 Starbucks and a Beef O'Brady's sports bar just opened up down the road from us. You'd be amazed at how it's changed here. It's nothing like the place it was when I moved here in 1989!
