LOL I wasn't going to say anything, but I guess I'll commiserate. I've been having foot problems for years, and they finally figured out last year that it was plantar fasciitis. I'm finally able to walk about as much as normal people

but I can't wear normal shoes. My feet are too wide--2E. I searched high and low for nice shoes to wear on the cruise, because my old dress shoes, while very nice, are excruciatingly painful to me if I have to stand in them for more than a few minutes. (And they're flats, too.) I went to DSW (a fancy shoe store) and asked the sales girl if they had any wide shoes. She looked at me like I had a second head! She informed me that most shoe manufacturers don't make wide widths anymore because most people can fit in normal shoes and they don't want to spend the money making extra sizes if they don't have to!
I'm just not willing to suffer for fancy shoes. I went to the "medical" shoe supply store (the one my podiatrist referred me to) and bought a pair of cute Mary Jane-style shoes. They might not be the height of fashion, but I ****like**** them, and they are super comfortable. I'm also going to boycott nylons.

If men can wear socks, I'm going to strike a blow for equal rights and wear socks, too. Of course, I want frilly little lace ankle socks....so I guess that's not too liberated....
