Awww, in my case my arches are too high, and I spent too long without proper arch supports. I'm not really completely sure of what happened, but the muscles are shortened, the arch tries to collapse, and the fatty pad on the bottom of my heel isn't all there anymore, so I'm walking on bone. I think. There are excercises I do to help stretch the muscles, I have arch supports, and for normal everyday walking I'm just fine. My feet can get sore, but nowhere near the can't-walk-or-I'll-pass-out pain I got when I was on my feet all day. I don't have any idea why my feet are still swollen two days later, that shouldn't have anything to do with the plantar fasciitis.

My DH is completely supportive. He'll do whatever I decide to do. But when I go over to the DISabilities board, I see people who have it soo much worse than I do, and I feel horribly guilty for even contemplating getting a wheelchair.

Dawn

I've traveled to the DISabilities forum before and I'm sure they'd support you as well. Don't let guilt get to you. :grouphug:

is the DIS server acting up again or is it me??? :badpc:

So glad the first day went so well....sorta :woohoo:

Ahh the valet pick up. I almost had to be in three of them this year, but the eldest's dd's teacher said dd could wait with Dbro. *whew!* I tried looking for a signal for the laptop while in the school valet car line last year....no luck. No DISing while waiting.
We can't figure out how to get a router to work here...all kinds of issues. :teeth:

The boys both ride buses but we're technically too close for Teia to ride the bus. I have managed to get her on the morning bus but it's optional. The school's not far from my house so I don't mind the dropoff. Afternoons are different because I can't rely on a bus to get her home before I need to get Logan to work. I don't mind car line too much, since I'm alone. There are lots of moms who hang out and chat so it's not too bad. I bring my iPod and some magazines and just hang out in my car (when the a.c. is working).

Sure wish I could hang out with you all this year while waiting for the kids. :grouphug:

We'd have a blast! :sunny: :grouphug:

Evening ladies. :wave2: Dawn, I'd opt for the wheelchair. Like everyone else said, you want to be able to enjoy your vacation, right? :thumbsup2

Patsy, you should be very proud of your accomplishments! It's really your parents' loss that they don't share in your achievements!

I'm very proud of my kids, for all they've done... from Logan right down to the 6 year old. At 15, Logan has held down a job for over a year, bought his own car, pays for his insurance and cell phone...pretty cool if you ask me. I know adults who aren't that responsible! At the same time, I'm also aware of his weaknesses and I'll always be here to help him with anything along the way. Of course, I feel the same for all three of my kids. My pride overflows. How sad for your parents that they are missing out on so much, having a great daughter like you!

Thanks :)
When I moved to FL with Lauren and was talking to her grandparents (who have known me since I was 12) they told me how Lauren had always talked about how hard I worked to get somewhere on my own and how very proud they were of me, who I'd become and the things I'd accomplished....I broke down and started crying. I felt so pathetic  , but no one had ever told me that before and it was my crowning moment.
One of those moments that will stay with me forever, I'm sure. :goodvibes

I'm sure my parents would be there if I needed them to be (or maybe I'm jaded and would just like to think so) but they're not making it easy on me and in some way, for that I should be grateful.. I'm sure once I have that degree and look back at all the crap I shoveled through to get it, I'll appreciate it soooo very much more :) :)

Okay I've never even heard of Rainbows... enlighten me Heidi?!
