Personally I chase the dolphins around.:rotfl: And when I'm actually IN the tank I follow the HUGE sea turtle around til I run out of air!:rotfl2:

I went to the doctor yesterday for a medication review! My cholesterol has come down so far that he agreed to HALVE my Lipitor dose! He says that at the rate that I'm going, I might be off Lipitor by THE END OF THE YEAR!!!

I don't think, at 21 yrs old, I am equipped with what it takes to help my husband with the loss of his father.
I just don't.

My parents just met his mom tonight at the funeral home. He is so depressed that they met at his father's viewing. I can't even think of anything to say to him- how do you justify it being okay that it happened like that? :confused3

Just venting a little... I'm not familiar with the "sticks" and spending an entire week out there without having a clue what to say to anyone is causing me to lose my mind a little.

However, my MIL and myself bonded over pineapple jello and Wii today...

Sorry--always tough. One of the things that helps me is when people let me talk about my Dad. Especially when they ask about him. You did not get to know Tom's Dad well, so ask him about his Dad. What does he remember? What was fun? What was routine? Get the memories going instead of the "what if....?" and "why didn't I......?".

Yeah, I'm not.. breaking down or anything because I don't know what to do or say. It's just one of those  situations. That everyone goes through.
I'll get through it just whats on my mind.
If I could sleep I'd stop posting stupid stuff on here all the time. :rolleyes1

He focuses on the weirdest things. His mind works like nothing I've ever seen before so... it's just like :confused3 where did that come from??
:rotfl:

Sorry if I vent here too often. :flower3:

 Vent away. That is what the thread is for. Guys are different and we can support each other as we experience things.

Well. We're dealing with more issues than just his death (that have pretty much come out to me the last two days). My FIL was JUST bothering to get to know Tom. He denied that Tom was his son until he joined the Marine Corps. Then he only owned up to him when he was drunk and Tom, in his uniform, showed up at the bar to get him.
He was alcoholic, abusive and a miserable man. That, maybe the last 6 months?, was just starting to bother with Tom. He DID come to our family cook-out in June and did take Tom to dinner/breakfast a few times when he came to town. They were just starting out.
I was just starting to get to know him, too. When Tom moved in with me his dad told him he was making the biggest mistake of his life by being "monogamous" and at that point Tom told his dad to never come near me because he didn't want me tainted by him. It wasn't until he straightened up that Tom let him near me.

It's been hard. He has fits of anger where he goes off about how horrible the man was. I've learned more about his childhood in these fits of anger than I knew before because he never went there, he blocked it out. Apparently his dad tried to shoot his mom one night, but missed and almost hit him and his brother. Tom tried to get his dad off their mom and broke his leg.
Crappy, crazy stuff that I can't imagine going through.

He's re-living it all now in a mix of relief that the man is gone, hate that he feels so numb and disappointment that he was just really starting to get to know the man sans-the alcoholic abusive crappiness that made up his childhood.

I let him talk because I think I need to know that this is where he came from, but it's so hard. He makes me cry and I just want to hug him and take away the pain but he's so angry...

Alright~ Happier note!

WE GOT OUR BED.
And it's huge.
((And I REALLY need to clean our bedroom :rolleyes1 ))

Another happy note!

Tom's brother gave us half of the cash in their dad's safety deposit box today.
Tom gave me some of it and told me to GO ON VACATION!
He didn't care where, just to do something for me.
(He, like Tim it seems, does NOT enjoy vacation like normal folks do!)

So... over the course of the day and researching options... my friend Carina and I (went to California together last September) are going on a 4 night Royal Caribbean cruise in December!

So excited!

I love my husband!

Erica-

I don't know why but cruisecritic.com has the new Disney ship launching June of 2011!

Patsy, wow.....that's messed up! I hope everything works out ok. It's going to take some time  The vacation sounds great though!
I'll have to look at cruise critic now.....

PS nice bed :goodvibes

Yeah. I understand very clearly now why he joined the Marine Corps. before he ever even graduated and never went back there. He's lived here since getting out.

WE JUST MADE AN OFFER ON A HOUSE! :cool1: :yay: :dance3:

Except it's going into foreclosure and they told us it might be over a month before we hear back... :headache:

I know! I have to catch myself talking to my friend about "Well on Disney" when she asks me questions because I know Royal Caribbean won't compare and I don't want to bum her out!

But seriously- I booked through the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Travel center and we got a rate of $169/per person for a 4 night!
After taxes and fuel surcharge, I think it was $250 each!
We're paying more to fly into Miami than we are to go on the cruise! :rotfl:
