Disney Wonder Sept 3-7,2006 Part 2

Patsy, would her mother at least know details? I wonder what it is that's wrong that she can't hold her baby. It sounds sooo sad! I can't imagine what's wrong. I wonder if someone's with her to help her. I'm glad you're hearing from her but I wish she'd give you some information..... :grouphug:

Just got another message!

Vicki was right. I asked what was wrong, her response reads

"Fever. High blood pressure, infection. Bad wet tap that caused spinal headache. Had spinal blood patch. Catscan showed air bubbles on brain. Lost a lot of blood in delivery and they're considering a blood transfusion because my blood count is so dangerously low. Can't sit or stand or even raise my head. Legs are hooked up to machines so I won't get blood clots. I'm hooked up to a lot of IVS.. breathing through an oxygen mask. On a million drugs. And I got 12 stitches to top it off. I can't take care of my own baby. Can't even hold him. He lays be me though and I can feed him laying down. I'm so upset."

I asked if her mom was with her and she said "Yeah, She has to stay and take care of Izaiah. I won't let her take him home without me. I haven't really gotten to talk to my husband, either. It's too much."

...I'm crying right now. :(
She was the first person I met when I moved here (we were both new that year). We were alphabetically beside each other all through school (always sat by each other in class, had lockers by each other.. and walked down the aisle at graduation together.

Aww Patsy!! I'm so sorry!! Hopefully she'll be fine soon!:goodvibes Awww but that's so sad the dad couldn't be there.:guilty: I'd be devastated if my husband wasn't there. And awww her mom didn't go to the hospital? My grandma traveled over to England when I was born! I'd travel anywhere my daughter was having birth to be there for her...especially if it were her first!!

Sending lots of love to yours and your friends way!!!

:grouphug: OMG! That poor girl! How scary! :sad1: I'll keep praying for her. Tell her that it's wonderful that her baby is well and that she needs to do whatever they tell her to get better. I'm sure, although it sounds so bad to us, that they've dealt with this before and they're doing everything possible to get her better! At least she has her baby with her, that will really help her!

Aww Patsy, that's terrible!! I didn't know so much could go wrong with an epidural!! Just reinforces why I DON'T want one! Yikes!! Awww that is so sad. Air bubbles in the brain!? Oh my gosh...her mom must be a nervous wreck! Awww Patsy I really hope she gets better soon!!!!:guilty:

She didn't know when she was going to have him, they kept changing her due date. Her mom is there now, though. She may have been there before the birth-- I don't know for sure. I think there were weird rules because she is in a base hospital.

Yeah. I'd be devastated, too. She cried for days when they got his deployment notice. Mostly because he's deployed for 15 months-- through the birth and first year of their kids life. It's also his second tour in less than four years.

:sad1: I hope she gets better soon, too. Thanks for praying for her, guys! :grouphug:

Awwww she's ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's going to be okay, I'm sure of it!

I can't imagine they'd leave him in Iraq if it were life and death. Just scary for everyone that loves her!

Vicki really called it.

Thanks for the prayers guys! I'm off to sleep.
