Disney Wonder Sept 3-7,2006 Part 2

When Amanda was little we would watch the same movie over and over. We watch Cinderella everyday for 6 months!!!! It got to the point we could pick out bloopers in the movie!

That is so true! DS17 used to love the Thomas the Tank Engine movies. I thought I was going to die a slow painful death from the drone of Ringo Starr's (and also George Carlin's) voice. Booooorrrrrriiiinng! Then, we went through it all again with all the princess movies that DD got stuck on as she was turning from toddler to school aged eviloid!

I remember when we first moved to KY when I was... 1st grade, so 6?... Ou apartment was so new the cable company hadn't run lines yet. All we had was a VCR.

I watched The Little Mermaid EVERYDAY after school after my mom got finished watching The Bodyguard.

Thanks Patsy! You should ask your friend if she had Lionel as a lab instructor.....though he's not so much in the labs now as he is in the online stuff. I'm willing Gustav to stay away. NO MORE RAIN!!!!

Actually he is part of the game design department now, but he used to do the basic programming classes (like photoshop, etc). They call it CMS, but I have no idea what it stands for.

Amanda had a great first day of school. Not only does she do the AM announcements, she's a safety! Her best friend is in the other class. But her best "boyfriend" is in her class(they have been together since kindergarten!)

We saw that house today... and we loved it!

Crossing our fingers that Tom gets this other job because without it, I'm not sure we'll be able to get the pre-approval that high (his current income is VERY hard to prove)... the only traditional income we'd have would be mine!

EEEEEK!!!
We're so excited. I was *unofficially* (officially it has to come from Corporate) given a job back at a bank with two managers who I LOVE. Call from Corporate is going to come tuesday!
Hiring manager now is the assistant manager that hired me back before our cruise in '06! Assistant manager now is a teller I used to work with, we've been really good friends ever since!
She had a meeting with the District manager yesterday and she said he asked her when she was holding interviews and she said "I'm not interviewing, I already know who I want!"
Woohoo! The pay is high enough that even without Tom getting this other job, we should be able to get a mortgage and get this house!
We're making an offer contingent upon financing tomorrow! Too bad I'll be on a plane, I'll miss out on all the festivities! Very exciting! Our first house, possibly!

So... has something ever happened to you that left you completely panicked with absolutely no idea what to do??

Our flight was delayed. Tom was with my father watching the WVU game when he got a call that his father died. He took off out to where he's from (the sticks) which has no cell reception. I have a new phone, with none of his families numbers in it.

I landed an hour and a half ago to the news and I STILL can't find a number to call or a way to reach Tom. I just feel helpless. What exactly do you do, you know?

Dang Patsy, that's a tough one! Hopefully HE will get in touch with YOU...and soon! Sorry to hear about Tom's father! How sad for all of you!

I finally got ahold of someone back home who had three phones books and eventually one phone book had the "sticks" in it. I went through every family member I could think of and their names before I finally got one to call.
Tom had JUST left to go break the news to his grandmother (), apparently his cell phone died so even when he was in an area with service, he didn't have his phone. He called me after it had some time to charge in the car.
I'm flying home in the morning. I feel about 100% better just having talked to him...

Last time I flew to Orlando with my mother, her father-in-law died. This time, mine did.
My mother is cursed.

Alright, I landed in Orlando about 24 hours ago. And I'm back home now. Been a crazy day.

Tom didn't call me because before my plane left Pittsburgh I sent him a message that I forgot my charger so my phone would be off. He was with my dad when his mom called to tell him, so he asked my dad to call my mom and tell me. By the time we got the message, he was in the sticks and I couldn't reach him.

thanks everyone. it's going to be a long week... they took the body to Charleston for an autopsy so it's going to be a hurry up to wait thing, as with the holiday they can't tell us when to plan services.

when I got home Tom was mowing the yard. Strange, strange boy that one...

I can tell he's glad I'm home (he keeps hugging me and thanking me for coming back, as if I would have stayed??)
There is a fellow he knows from his job at the VA that lives up the street and they've been walking back and forth all day. Talking about Air Force vs. Marines, drinking and playing X-Box. Crazy boys. Makes me feel sorta superfluous but whatever helps him through...
