Disney Wonder Questions

I was on the Disney Wonder last year and for the life of me there is so much I cannot remember... LOL

Such as Sodas in the dining room are they free ?
Is there a charge for sodas at Castaway Cay ?

Can you snorkle with your own equipment at Castaway Cay and how deep was the snorkle area?

When we were in the Bahamas all we did was the straw market, Is there anything else to see that is not far from the pier... Walking distance ?

Thanks so much for your answers

Hi, I can help with a few.

Drinks are free in the dining rooms, and there is a drink station (free) near the Mickey Pool...Only charge for soft drinks, in the bars, and room service.

There is also a drink station(free) on Castaway Cay, if you order it from the waiters, there will be a charge.

You can most definitely bring your own snorkel gear.

The rest I will bow out on..Sorry. :goodvibes

as far as your last ? about the bahamas .you will have a much better time is you stay on the ship.it's not a nice place or what I would call a safe place to visit.any other ??? just ask.

Hi. Just got off of the Wonder yesterday (8/28 4-night cruise) and I can answer most of your questions:

Soda, iced tea, juice are free in the dining rooms. There is also a drink station on deck 9 near the Mickey Pool and there is also a drink station near the food area on Castaway Cay. Drinks that are brought to you by the bar staff, ordered at bars, the theaters, clubs or stands at Castaway Cay are not free - and a 15% gratuity is added to bill.

Yes, you can snorkle with your own equipment or rent. There are two snorkle areas - beginner and advanced. The deepest part of the water is about 6 feet.

We went on the dolphin excurstion - AWESOME. Had to take transportation for that. Our friends took taxi to Atlantis - said that was great. Big aquarium, shops, casino. I did hear others talking about pirate museum.

Hope that helps.

Can you please tell me what the dining rotation is on the 4 day WOnder? I have heard a difference in the timing of which restaurant you repeat. Also wondering where I can see the most up to date menus as I'm trying to figure out which night to request Palo. Thanks,

If you want an excursion that you can just walk to, do the Pirates museum. It is a large purple building, 2 blocks directly behind the straw market. In May it was $12 per adult, don't remember the kids price. It is very interesting and takes about an hour to do it at a nice pace. there is a replica of a pirate ship you walk through to see how pirates lived and much more afterwards. there is a lot of reading plaques, but it is very good. if you have young kids, be warned that when you first enter it is very dark, but as soon as you get on the ship, it is well lighted. Well worth the money to do.
We also enjoyed the horse drawn carriage ride right by the docks. It was $10 per person and it was about 20 to 25 minutes long. Noisy at first intil you get off the main road, but nice and relaxing thing to do on our way back to the ship. Have a great time.

I forgot about the horse drawn carriage rides.. $ 10.00 person sounds pretty reasonable !

And the pirate museum sounds great too !
thanks a bunch for your suggestions. pirate:

We did the Bahama trip in 03 and walked around the straw market as well as the Atlantis resort. Not much to say about the straw market area other than few historical buildings nearby. Shop early if you want to get stuff, they close around 5pm to walk the "dog" so they say. Atlantis resort was incredible. You should go there to check out the DIG. There's casino too if you want to try your luck. You can get there either by boat or taxi. We did the boat ride, it was great, got a chance to see around Paradise Island.

1. Second and third night are in the same place.
2. Third night is Pirate Night. Best place for that is Parrot Cay since it's "themed".
3. We had the 6:00 slot (every night...it doesn't change from night to night).
It basically just lets everyone get seated a little easier...no line to get into the dining room. It didn't affect the "show" in Animator's. We usually left the dining room around 7:30-7:45.

We were APPT.

Hope this helps,
Melanie

Thanks Melanie - can you tell me the ages of the children in your group - just wondering if APPT matches a family with children of certain ages. Thanks, Jo

We also had a APPT rotation during our 4 night cruise in July. The children in our group were 10, 11 & 12 years old. We had late seating...8:15 pm on each night.

Hope this helps...have a great trip! :cool1:

We had the APPT rotation on the 8/28 cruise. Our group consisted of 4 adults and three daughters: ages 10, 10 and 6.

We (both families) booked our reservations on-line through DCL at the same time, both requested 1st dinner seating, but when our confirmation p-work came in the mail our friends had 1st seating and we had 2nd seating. We put ourselves on the waiting list and linked our reservations. When our cruise documents arrived, we were still showing 2nd seating. However, a week before we left, I checked reservation on-line and we were changed to 1st seating. So the wait-listing and linking really does work!

On your KTTW card (key to the world card) that you get at check-in, you will see your dining room rotation and also your seating and your staggered time. We were "F2-APPT-Table 32". This means first seating, 6:00.

The dining rotations looked like this:

1st Seating:
5:45 - Tritons
6:00 - Animator's Palate
6:15 - Parrot Cay

2nd Seating:
8:00 - Tritons
8:15 - Animator's Palate
8:30 - Parrot Cay
