Disney Wonder - October 14, 2012 - Hawaii

hi can you add out room number to the fe list etc - lynne mcb - 7008. its on the spreadsheet but not on the front post

lynne

I will update the first list soon. :) We are getting so close. ith ink it will seem really real once the April cruise sails!

That is a very nice offer. We look for a hotel from oct 7 and then go 3 days to disneyland and perhaps MNSSHP. The other days we would visit LA.

But how can I book this hotel from the Netherlands with that discount? Do I need to have that entertainment card. And how do I get that here?
I looked at that hotel, but now it is such a lovely offer.
Anyone that can help me, thanks

We just call it Mickey's Halloween Party out here in California. That acronym is too long anyway! :goodvibes

Please add myself and my DD (7) - we have a GTY. Just a mommy-daughter trip! We just got back from Aulani, it is exciting to think we will be back in Hawaii in 9 months!

Welcome Aboard to all our new fellow cruisers.
Ocmommy, my DD is 7 as well, perhaps we can get the two of them together.
Sherri

welcome to our new cruisers! I have flights booked but am waiting on overnight hotels on either end of the cruise hoping to use some points instead of real money! LOL

Happy New Year everyone!

We made our flight arrangement, now to get a hotel, and transportation booked!

:thumbsup2

...I'm thinking vaguely about clothes already. I've been trying to plot out the number of nights v. the number of themes, etc. Are any of the rest of you going to really dress up for formal night? Do we have more than one, with it being a longer cruise?

I saw the post about shirts, etc but will confess to having no idea what the various options are and what is involved as this is the 1st cruise...anyone care to elaborate on the various opportunities? TIA.

It's seems like the 14-night cruises have 2 formal/1 semi-formal or 1 formal/ 2 semi-formal nights. This is the perfect cruise for most of us, as far as luggage goes - the Americans won't have those awful international weight restrictions (or maybe they were just for the intra-Europe flights). With SWA's 2 free bags, I can bring more (and I'll still do laundry for the daytime cottons). So many of us had to ditch outfits to get our stuff to the ship for the WBTA this year.

Definitely bring aloha wear - we're going to the Paradise!

...WOO HOO! We are going to Hawaii THIS YEAR!!:yay:

I just booked a pre cruise hotel stay in Calif - with hopes to make our FIRST visit to Disneyland!!!

I found a code on the trips message boards - for a great discount -
$59.00 per night - at the HOJOs - which is ranked # 4 in Anaheim by Trip Advisor and has great reviews!

Just go to

http://www.hojoanaheim.com/

Put in your dates and use the code LKEP

It is the Entertainment 50% off code - the thread on the other boards said you will have to show your entertainment book card upon check in - but I am going to check with the hotel to be sure - even if I do - it is another $25 for the book ( I think) and they are usually sold as fundraisers -with lots of other discounts in them. FYI - It is non-refundable but you can't beat that rate!!:cool1::thumbsup2

I booked 3 nights - the 11th, 12th and 13th. We are coming from NJ - and I am not sure what day /time we will leave / arrive -- Airfare is HIGH right now to say the least! $600+ per person ( hubby will only fly non-stop) Hoping for an airfare SALE between now and our trip!

Hope this helps some of you!

Enjoy your day!
Sherri

That is a great rate. Thanks

Aloha Everyone!!

My DD (Nichole) and I booked our cruise (or should I say rebooked) while on the Dream. We do not have a room number with the rebooking, but it is a Category GTY9C.
...

My daughter is a DVC Member so we will also be staying on Disney property. This cruise is for my 54th birthday on October 18th.

Sharon

Hello everyone

After much debate we've been out today and booked to join you all in October.

We are Sarah (sezmo) and my Mum Elizabeth, we live in Cheshire in the UK and are very exicted to be taking this trip as we've never been to the West Coast.

We'll read everything that's been going on and hope to join in some of the fun

See a couple of familiar names so are looking forward to catching up with our "old" Dis friends and making some new ones too. :thumbsup2

The cancellation is a tough one but they had to introduce that as many people were booking it and then cancelling at the last minute and that never works out well for the hotel.

Regarding the book/card: You don't have to get the complete book. When I was living in the states I would buy the card off eBay. It was, usually $2 or $3 USD and to get a 50%-off rate, it was well worth it. You will need to show that card upon check-in.

I haven't read back too far, but do you have any contacts in the states who can order that (the card would be mailed) for you and then get it to you either once on the ship (don't remember if it was a pre or post stay) or once in Anaheim?

LOVED Hojos as it was an easy walk to the park (there are closer hotels) and had a few easy-to-get-to restaurants nearby.

Once we've caught up on the thread we may need some of your expert advice. The only thing we've done is book the Hyatt Regency Orange County for 3 nights before.

Thinking one day at Disney and one day touring Hollywood booked it all through Virgin holidays, didn't do much research just took the plunge - When my Mum has her eye on something I know I'm in trouble :rotfl: :rotfl:

Looking forward to seeing you and Marc - say hi from us. :cheer2:

Sarah

Could you please add us to the fish extender list
Adults 2 Kids Dominic (B16) Blake (B10) cabin GTY. Is the candy and postcard exchange the same process? I'm not sure what a scrap exchange is.

Thanks Michael,
We think about it and Auntlynne also has give me advice about the card. That would be no problem. It is more the cancellation pollicy that concerns me. We must be absolute sure about our dates before I book.
And it is before the cruise we will be in LA. The plan is to fly on oct 7th already. To see some of LA and Disneyland of course. And probebly the Haloween party on friday.
Lynne sugested that we first go to San Francisco for a couple of days and then fly to LA. We'll see how much this gonna cost extra with the flights.
So all the plans must be complete before I book something.

Michael,

Is there a specific card/book that is being referenced here? Or is it just the "Entertainment" brand of discount books. Someone said it could be a book/card for any city.

I can get the card to Liesbeth, so she does have a source - we just need your help knowing what to get. :goodvibes

Aloha! Looks like we will be joining you for the Hawaii cruise in October!

We are: Larry (LKShep), and DW, Janee (Twinner2). We will also be joined by DW's twin sister and her husband. We are leaving our children (mostly college age and/or married) at home for a two-week, adults-only vacation.

As it has worked out, I spent my 51st birthday last year at Castaway Cay on the last day of our Eastern Caribbean cruise, and I will join all of you in boarding the Wonder on my birthday this year.

While this is our sixth Disney cruise, it wasn't until last year that we got active with a cruise meet group before our cruise. We had such a good time online with everyone for the months leading up to the cruise and really enjoyed those friendships during the week on board.

We look forward to getting to know you all and joining with you in preparing for a fantastic vacation!

Welcome Larry and Janee!

Gosh I sure wish this cruise was closer- between our blowing snow and seeing in my Oceanography class that the age water temps in the general Hawaii area is really nice- I want to be there now, but instead am stuck here in the blowing snow :( all by myself!

Aloooohhaaa! Lol! :) We are planning to join you all on this cruise! I am sooo excited!! I've never been to California or Hawaii. If we can do it, we want to fly to CA on the 11th or 12th. Go to Disney for a day or two and after the cruise fly back on Monday. It will be just DH (Joe) and Me (JoAnn). Now if hubby can get his days off approved, I could book a flight! :rolleyes1

I'm anxious for the April sailing to come back to see how it was! I'd like to see their navigators and stuff! I wonder how many dinners you are allowed on a 14 day cruise! Yummy!

Looking forward to seeing you all on the Wonder!

Welcome JoAnn and Joe! It should be a great cruise.

I think on the 14-day cruises they serve dinner every night! You shouldn't have to miss a one!

Woo Hoo!! Bienvenidos!

Sorry! I didn't see this question previously. Any Entertainment card from any book/city combo can be used. You don't need it to make the reservation, only when you check in.

Also, if you see the rate, grab it. There are limited rooms for the promotion.
