Disney Wonder - October 14, 2012 - Hawaii

Lisa

Bob & I are on the April Hawaii cruise. I sent you a PM in response to your posting on our thread requesting info on our group Hawaiian shirts. I am just checking if you got it because I didn't hear back from you.

Unfortunately the shirt company we are using would not be able to combine our order count with any other if the design or order dates are in anyway different. But if your group is interested in doing something like this too, I would be happy to share the information I researched and our art work. I took our design and updated it with your info and changed the color so you could get an idea of a possible design for your team. I don't know if your group has any interest but if you do let me know.

I picked the company we are using after contacting a number of other companys. The cost for all of them is about the same after you factor in the "extra" costs. The one we are going with have been very responsive, easy to work with and they are willing to sell us material for those who don't want shirts (or need bigger then 3X) and want to make something on their own.

I for one would be interested in the shirts. My wife for two would be interested in getting the fabric.

If someone from your group want to organize this and wants the info, contact me.

Time for my wife to jump on-board this thing.. (I do computers so got the FE list, she does the long-arm quilting so she gets the shirts/fabric). :lmao:

Sending you and PM..

My hubby and I will be joining you all for this cruise. His first cruise! I'm very excited. We'll be celebrating his birthday (on the 27th) and coming up on our 39th wedding anniversary. Seriously, not sure how that happened so fast. :)

Hawaii is a dream of mine and I'm looking forward to meeting all of you.

We may bring our granddaughter (age 10) but not certain she can miss that much school. I hope she can - she's my Disney buddy.

Barbara

I think we would all be very recognizable wearing those shirts on the first day of the cruise!!!:thumbsup2

I'm interested..

Also interested in hearing what everyone is planning.. I haven't even started.. give me direction!!! I need it.. ;)

I am starting to plan..

What activities do/can we do on the sailing part??
Meet for breakfast, lunch, or??
wine seminar??
or ??
Stateroom tour??
Cheese platter and wine/beer/bevarage of your choice on deck 4 meet.

Ideas??

On the WBTA last year, we had a lot of DIS activities:

Geezer Meet everynight at the Cove Cafe after the last show

Lots of private tastings-Beer, wine, marguerita, mojito, mixology, cognac and maybe something else. The person that organized this was in concierge. I think that's why it was possible at all

On sea days there was a small group that met for yoga on deck 7 aft

Jewelery making workshop

Champagne girls meet

Pajama breakfast

Room Tour

Ladies Tea

We also had coordinators to link DISer's with either early or late dining so that we could sit together in the dining rooms

Also, In addition the the FE exchange, there was a candy exchange, a Secret Mickey exchange, postcard exchange and scrapbooking exchange

However, there were a few very talented and organized people
that made it all possible. I think that I'm missing one or two activities

A pub crawl might be fun....

Janice

Mark (DH) and I would be interested in joining up with a group for dinners. We have main seating and it would be great to get to know our dinning partners before the cruise. :)

Here is a mockup of our shirts:

And a mockup of the type of changes you could make for your cruise. You could make it any color with any text.

could you please send me the info for the shirts. Thanks cindy

Cindy,

I have the info and will look into the shirts, but first it loks like the minimum order will be 50 shirts and/or 5 yds of material...

Currently, I have interest in 5 shirts (us, tablemates, and one other) and my wife would like fabric.

Hi I know this is a VERY VERY last minute request but we have just managed to confirm flights from Singapore to join the Disney Dream cruise on 30th October 2011. :yay: I have two boys aged 7 and 12. Is there ANY remote chance that we can join the fish extender list? The organiser is PPARTEKIM but I am new to this forum and it won't allow me to send any private messages and have no idea how to contact him/her directly. We did the same cruise last year and my boys LOVED the fish extender program. Thanks Chris (Ryan and Sean's mummy)

Not a problem.. Your added.... but you are on the wrong October thread..

I believe you want this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2714209

As of this moment, my husband and I are scheduled to go with yall to Hawaii. Things may change but I hope not! We are taking our first cruise in a few more weeks to the MR on the Wonder. I am hoping we love it so much that we can't wait to stay 14 days on the ship. However, right now, that many days on the ship kind of bothers me. I am afraid that I will get bored. My only experience on a cruise ship was Carnival and I did not really enjoy the sea days. It was only drinking, gambling and hairy chest contests on sea days. That is not really my cup of tea. However, I hear that Disney is different! So I have high hopes. I will know for sure if we will keep this cruise by middle of Nov.

I am very interested in the shirts and fabric if we do go!

You will not be bored... We love sea days.. We wish we could have a Disney cruise that is nothing but sea days (and this is after 10 cruises, three of them 14 night)... And we have no kids....

I will post next week more about the shirts and fabric when I get more info..

I completely agree with ppartekim. Disney does such a great job of keeping everyone entertained, with no casino and no "hairy chest contests" or anything like that! We literally had to budget our time carefully on sea days because there were so many simultaneous and overlapping activities that we wanted to enjoy!

Totally agree. We never get to do everything we'd like to do on the ship - always have to make choices and leave something for 'next time.'

Hey fellow cruisemates,
So excited to be joining in on the second Hawaiian holiday. Booked this on the first available day but had not gotten around to posting as I just spent a week on the Magic celebrating my birthday. Looking forward to meeting lots of new dis members and sailing again with some of you....:yay:

Since it looks like there will be passengers from all over the country (and perhaps the world) on this cruise, how about if we add a post card exchange to the fish exchange? I'm sure this has been done before on other cruises, but this will only be our second so I'm not sure how they are organized. What does everyone think?

Not sure what you mean by adding it to the FE.. Do you mean add one postcard to the FE gift one gives to each room? That might work, keep costs down, and still keep it optional for folks.

I can update the FL list headline to "FE / Postcard Exchange" if everyone (or the vocal ones) agree.
