Disney Wonder March 20th 2011 sailing

I will also need to try to change my Palo brunch to day 3. Thanks for the info about the 75 day release of more reservation spots!

Is there a reason I'm not thinking of that everyone wants day 3 brunch instead of day 2? Both are coming up when I sign on, so I have a choice.

I just wanted to settle into the cruise for a day before doing the brunch. Nothing special about day 3, just a personal preference. This is my first time to try Palo. Last cruise was too short (3 day).

Geez, I hope my kids are excited about this trip as I am. I guess we'll find out on Saturday morning.

I try to time mine not to interfere with the character breakfast to which you would be assigned - it is a guess, as you have to guess your potential dining rotation, and I assumed wrong on my last trip. But, it was very easy to switch on board, no issues at all. I think they hold time slots for on board booking.

Thanks Cathy, the "magic" time for me is 75.

I'm booking an excursion and Palo. If you had to choose between brunch and dinner which pick?

It is a hard choice. If I could only do one, I would do brunch. I am a breakfast person. Do not get me wrong, the dinner is great, but you said I had to only choose one.

You can't go wrong with whatever you pick.

Well yes we do My daughter is 21 my niece is 23 and my son is 26 and they are all going with us. hehe cant wait

Were going and I am so excited!! Thank you honey for your planning and inspiration to me. You are the four elements in my life: Air, Water, Fire and Earth. I love you more than DONALD!!! lol

Welcome DonaldLovinDaddy! Just add you groups name to the list a page or two back with all the families from the dis going on the cruise.

We have a fish extender list going and ethanash is in charge of that. If you would like to join in, just pm her with your family info, names, ages and stateroom number.

I have in charge of the Secret Mickey exchange, which is like a secret santa. Details are on post 443 on page 30.

We have been a quiet group lately, but I expect us to get more chatty now that the holidays are wrapping up.

Oh yeah, we also have a group on facebook if you are on there. Just search for Dis Amigos Fiesta Cruise.

We discussed having the facebook group for the kids to get to know each other and I don't think anyone ever did it, so I just created the group. It is Dis Amigos Fiesta Cruise - Kids

Can you tell the secret is out in our house? The reveal went well and I am so relieved to be able to discuss the cruise without making sure no one was listening to my dh and I.

Amen to that. I almost spilled the beans and thought theloinqueen was going to go all cannibal on me. She has us listed and I really can't wait to go. It is our first cruise.

i think the day we can start booking stuff is the 3rd of jan (dd's bday is the 2nd so that is where i made a connection) so that would be the 75 day mark? we have been out of town for xmas so when we get back we will have to get busy researching what we want to do. we will have 4 kids from 8-3.5 yrs and 4 adults 2 in their 60's and 3 in their 30's. i haven't been to matz since i was 5, lol so i have NO idea what to do there. i do know dh and i want spa time (massages).

i have a question, two of you have mentioned "18 hours at flounders" is flounders a babysitting place? and why 18 hrs? is that they max? it will be nice when we are doing this next time to have some idea what we are doing, lol!

oh one more question. i know there is a discount for booking your next cruise whilst still on board. can you only book for yourself (so if there are two cabins you can book 2 cabins -8 people/8 people) or could we book for more? we are planning a huge group for an alaskan cruise in a couple of years and everyone is trying to budget and i wasn't sure if there would be the option of that onboard discount or not for everyone else, if we were willing to book it for them.

tia!!

my next projects on the roster are all cruise related:
exercise to fit into that swim suit (hee hee!)
make clothes for the kids
make tshirts for the families
gather fe stuff (already purchased for the most part)
organize pj party for onboard
book plane tix (i found a great deal but dh decided he would rather pay more to be able to fly out of our local airport, which swa doesn't go thru)
book hotel/transport to ship

My travel agent said the date for booking things for us newbies is Jan 4th. I think I'll double check with him about that.

I know the final payment date is January 4th, so I think that is the same day that new cruisers can make online ressies.

Bet your kids were really excited. I don't think I would have been able to keep that secret for so long.

My grandson Andre (9) will want to go on the Kids Facebook site and meet some kids ahead of time. Thanks for setting it up.

The secret was soooo hard to keep. We kept our last cruise a secret until a week before we left, so it was worse. They were excited, but I expected screaming and jumping up and down.

Now they can help me make FE gifts and plan.

My grandson is probably coming over tonight and I couldn't get on the right place on facebook to sign him up for the kids cruise page. I put in Dis Amigos Fiesta Cruise - Kids and the page didn't come up. I found several days ago when I went on to check it out, but it doesn't seem to be there now. Am I putting in the right name to find it?

It is January 4, but if you are on the west coast, that makes it 9 PM on January 3. I'm getting so excited to book things...it seems like it's been forever for this day to arrive!

Final payment will be made here by the end of the week, then I'll be all set at 9 on Monday night.

We broke down and booked airline tickets. We were going to drive, but got a great deal on JetBlue that we just couldn't pass up. Now trying to find a cheap-ish but decent hotel so we can go to Disneyland on Saturday before leaving on the cruise on Sunday.

Hi gang,
Haven't been on here in awhile, and am now REALLY getting excited looking forward to 2011..It has been an ETERNITY waiting..and we can finally start planning. Us "newbies" can't book shore excursions until the 4th, but I will try on the 3rd anyway...all they can say is.."tomorrow" lol.

So, I asked to join the group on Facebook, but is that how we are going to best be able to tell what other DisKids are the same age as our own? I know my boys 13 & 9 are looking forward to meeting other Diskids and have some friends while onboard.

:)

thelionqueen--
My son is 12 and is very excited to meet other kids on our cruise. His sister can make friends with *anyone* (she's 10, almost 11) but he'd love to be already acquainted with a boy or two before we board. You can send me a PM if you want to connect the boys that way and we could trade e-mail addresses.

I joined the kids' group, but neither of my kids have their own FB pages yet. They can communicate through me that way.

My kids are Logan (12--6th grade) and Grace (10--5th grade)

Hi,
New to DCL and the FE - I'm thinking about doing it for my son ... how do I get on a list and how does it all work? Not sure I'll have a room assigned prior to showing up.
Regards.
