Since apparently I am the first DISer to book this cruise, let's start the Meet Thread. It will be me, DH and DD9 by the time we cruise, our 4th Disney cruise, second time on the Wonder.

I'll jump in there. We just booked Wonder on March, 20th. It will be me, my wife, and my son who is 8. This will be our third Disney Cruise, but the first time on one of the classic ships! (both previous cruises were on Dream)
We are excited about the trip and interested in hearing about any recommend pre or post-cruise activities in Miami or South Florida.
Also curious if anyone has made the trek up to WDW for a day or two afterwards. Would like to do a day at MK, but would be $300 for park tickets alone much less transportation to get there. Really struggling with what to do.

Hello, we are locals and drive up to WDW, from Miami to the World is about 4:30 hours stoping once to eat, restroom use etc., so it is doable with an overnight stay and maybe flying out of Orlando. I haven't rent a car in a long while, but use to get good deals from Enterpise
Ok plan B... or is it C? Booked Alamo now for $88. (Hopefully there is a shuttle from the Port to the rental car center at MIA airport).
Then we will drive to Orlando, I'll drop the family off at the hotel, and then return the car at the WDW Car Care Center and get a ride back to the hotel. (Phew!)
Now the question is, which hotel. I booked 2 nights at:
Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista: no cost (cashed in points) and
Pop Century: $295
Benefit to the Holiday Inn is obviously the price - free = good! Benefit to Pop Century is Disney transportation, extra magic hours, etc. We only plan on spending one day at Magic Kingdom (the kiddo's favorite) and then heading for home Friday morning. Guess I'll make a decision in the next month or so and then cancel whichever one we don't want to use.
I would stay at Holiday Inn if is the one near DTD you are practically On Site, the DTD hotels have their own transportation to MK, don't know how it will compare to Disney's since we had never used one or the other, but with just one day at MK I'm guessing you'll be staying so is just 2 bus rides.
Honestly that was my preference too ... Especially because it is free! But my wife is thinking that the early magic hour will be important during the crowded spring break day. She also thinks we can return the rental car and use Disney transportation to get back to the airport afterwards. To me, that's not worth $300 for 2 nights on site. This will be our first stay at a Value resort too. Our last several Disney trips have been at deluxe resorts, so I'm not sure she knows what she is choosing.
So far no FE yet as this thread is not on the main page for "find your cruise", therefore just 3 DISers on this conversation, hopefully more people will come "aboard"
