Disney Wonder Jan 23, 2011

FYI, if anyone was still thinking about getting this PassPorter book:
Save 33% off PassPorter's Disney Cruise Line 2010 for this weekend only! Use coupon code welove2cruise (all lowercase) in the PassPorter Store during checkout to get 33% off the list price of any 2010 edition of PassPorter's Disney Cruise Line. Offer ends Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11:59 pm ET

I still think the 2008 edition bought used is a better deal since it actually has some MR information in it. I was tempted to buy the new one until I heard that it didn't have any MR information in it. Oh well!

It looks like we're going to miss you at DLR by a week. We're going the 7th through the 10th. Still debating on the WoC options; we're now leaning to the picnic boxes as my DW actually states that they sound pretty good and would rather eat at Downtown Disney than in the parks for the money.

135 days and counting . . .

Hello,

I will be 44 on 1-25-11. Does anyone what to cheer me up on this cruise. I am willing to accept presents, hugs, cake or cash. I'm not sure if my family is going to take care of me on my B-day. Thanks in advance, Gregg.

My son turns 4 on this cruise; we could have a joint "4 going on 44" party :rotfl:

Happy birthday; seems like a perfect way to celebrate!

Kris

Gregg's DW says "or maybe it'll be a 44 going on 4 party! Either way, it'll be fun!"

Hi Ocean Family !
Whew ! I am keeping up with the boards :-) So glad .....
Heres what I think we should do ... Denver will be 9 on this cruise and I will be 34 and greg 44 and someone else 4 why dont we get together and celebrate ! even if it is an at sea day we could do a B day lunch or something ... So lets see who all is celebrating a b day on the ship what day and when ?
Me - 34 1-30
Denver 9 1-29

Also as for the FEs did we decide what group sizes we will do ? I would like to start buying and making things - I say 12 is a good number - Jessica can you look at the list and see how many groups we have total ? Maybe you and I could call each other since we are close and in the same area code and look at it together and decide what to do and then present it to the group ? I dont want to wait till the last min like I always do with the FE stuff - thought it would be nice to be ahead this time LOL:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: anyways thats my 10 cents for the night - hugs to all

Hi Cari! Thanks for the offer but I think I will stick with the original plan and just divvy up the list myself on October 1st. If you want to be in a specific cabin's group, feel free to shoot me a PM or email and I will do the best I can to make that happen. Do you want to be in Amber & Rick's group, or would you rather do it for all strangers?!?!? Let me know! With regards to group size, it will probably be a little bit larger than that, 23 - 25 people per group, maybe. The final number will be based on how many more people join or decide they want to participate between now and Oct. 1st. Since not everyone is going to buy for each person, some will buy gifts per cabin, 12 people in some cases could amount to only 3 cabins to buy for.

**THIS GOES FOR EVERYONE; I WILL BE ARRANGING GROUPS IN 2 - 3 WEEKS; IF YOU HAVE A REQUEST TO BE WITH A SPECIFIC CABIN PLEASE LET ME KNOW BEFORE OCTOBER 1ST AND I WILL TRY TO ACCOMMODATE YOU**

**ALSO, ANYONE STILL UNDECIDED ON FE'S NEEDS TO PM OR EMAIL ME (mrsjeccamcintosh@yahoo.com)BEFORE OCTOBER 1ST IF YOU WANT JOIN AND BE PUT INTO A GROUP**The cut off for FE'S is going to be October 1st, anyone adding or joining the string after that time will need to email me and I will try to determine on a case by case basis if it is too late (this will be based on whether or not anyone has since canceled and/or if any group has yet to purchase any FE gifts and does not mind adding additional mates). If anyone wants to or is willing to buy/make a few extra gifts that way any stragglers could have a group to join, please send me a message so I know and that way I can give them happy news!! :wizard:

Please remember that anyone wanting to purchase for more people may do that; however, the group voted and it was overwhelmingly decided that we were dividing the FE list into smaller groups to help those who, in this rough economy, would benefit from smaller groups.

Thank you all for your time :flower3: Off to do homework now!

Hey Jessica
Thanks for the info ... When I said 12 I ment 12 CABINS not people .... I just dont want to be running around delivering to 25 cabins :rotfl: I dont know how many cabins are participating ??? I dont care if I am in rick and Ambers group HOWEVER I do know they would like to be in a group with some kids ( smaller kids ) as they have already bought stuff and its kid stuff ... and they have the 2 little ones :-)
looking fwd to seeing what you have planned for the FEs

Ahhh, that makes more sense! :rotfl2: I was thinking you meant 12 people. It could change, but right now it looks like there are 20 cabins participating, but 70 participants! If we did groups of 12 cabins it would be roughly 28 people per group, which isn't far off from what I was already planning. I will see how it goes and let you know when I figure it out! I will also keep in mind that Rick and Amber want to be with smaller kids! :thumbsup2 Thanks!

I REALLY need to decide if I am taking the plunge to make our own FE or buy one. I am afraid of making one, having it ruined and then having to buy one in the end. I am NOT the crafty sort, well I am but not in the making of crafts. ;)
I have already bought some things (more this weekend) and have a great idea once I get an exact number of people (adults and kids and possibly dogs :woohoo:).

Help me control my recent urge to get another dog. A friend of mine just bought a beautiful bulldog puppy, then PetsMart had an adoption fair (luckily they had older dogs and I figure our dog would do better with one under 1 year old) and I have been looking at rescue sites. VERY DANGEROUS!!! :lovestruc Trying to hold off at least until we get back from the cruise. :rolleyes1 but once I start putting that vibe out it just seems to happen. :scared1:
OK, off to spend time with Jeff before bedtime. He has been teaching Alec to catch a football :wizard: so I am sure he is wiped out.
Later,
Sue

Hi All
WOO HOO again so proud of me for keeping up LOL !:rotfl:
Jessica thanks for the response - 12 people would have been no fun LOL 12 cabins though to me is just enough - Last cruise I took we had maps and they were great it made delivery easier but with 12 cabins last cruise it still took me about 40 min maybe a lil less ..... but HEY that was a 3 nighter where time was more precious .... we have at sea days on this cruise something I havent had since my cruise to Alaska !

Sue - NO NO NO NO NO ... There does that help ? LOL I train dogs for a living so if you need any ?s answered let me know ! I can tell you what breeds to stay away from and I can tell you right off the bat not to get a dog under 2-2 1/2 if you want to know what the dogs TRUE temperment will be - Dogs change drasticly in between 1 and 2 ... This is why they wait to put service dogs out into the working field because until 2 you can not see how they will be - you will have somewhat of an idea but dont bank on anything being solid till after 2 ! just a little K-9 411 LOL:love:

ok off to do my thing . I am going to a pirate faire this weekend ( like a renisance faire ) and staying and camping overnight - nit sure WHAT im getting myself into as I have never been to one but am going with a very experienced group of people LOL ....trying to get things together for that . Have a good day all ! Happy Tuesday :thumbsup2

Thank you for the 411 Cari! I have a good deal of experience but any feedback is wonderful. Especially since my experience is mainly outdated. Other than my own, I haven't worked with animals in about 15 years. Right now, we have a bullmastiff and she is surprisingly wonderful. She fits so well with our family. She is so laid back and easy going most of the time. Our Golden was the same way and when we lost him a few months back he has left a hole in our hearts. He was 16 and was the best. I know we probably will not get one but with all the puppy action around here, it is hard not to say, "Hale needs a companion." I will resist!
Enjoy your Pirate Fair/camp out or whatever it turns out to be. pirate: at least it isn't like Burning Man, or I hope it isn't! :hippie:

Hey Cari - no worries! :3dglasses Approx. 12 cabins per group will be about right. Don't quote me yet because I'm still getting emails from people, but it should be right around that (give or take a cabin or two)! Along with matching up people who want to be with certain types of cabins or with specific people, I was also thinking of making sure that yours and Rick's cabins have a good number of kids (because I think kids would get a major kick out of delivering gifts to Denver and Hamlett). :thumbsup2 pluto: Before I make the lists, is that OK with you? I know Rick and Amber already wanted to be put in a group with kids around their kids' ages - but are you OK with being grouped with kids? If not that's alright, just let me know, but I thought that kids would think the dogs are fun.

Have fun camping!

Hi Sue .... oh how my heart aches for you - I have 2 goldens they`are the best ...shhhhh dont tell denver bec he is a lab LOL

Jessica - I dont care where you put wendi and I group wise kids or no kids dosent matter ... as for amber and rick id say smaller kids but do what you have to .... we are all not really pickey . only thing I would suggest is it seems like we are going for 2 groups so maybe splitting me and wendi and amber and rick into seperate groups so people from both groups will be able to buy for either denver my dog or hamlett ambers dog ... although I dont think either of the dogs would complain if they got double extender gifts LOL
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I cant wait disneyland is starting up Halloween stuff on the 17th .....

Anyone who is interested - KFRG (southern cali local) radio station is hosting the K-froggers for kids radio-thon and it ends at 7PM tonight. It is money raised for the children's cancer ward at Loma Linda Children's hospital. They are trippling donations right now thanks to Pedigree pet food company and Staterbrothers stores. Anyway - just thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone wants to donate. Even $1 helps.

I'm sure everyone has been affected in some way by Cancer. My mother-in-law, Grandfather, Grandmother, and now my 20 year old step sister are all fighting cancer or have beat it. My 20 year old step sister (koko) was just diagnosed 2 months ago with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma.

If you're willing to donate, call:

800-825-KIDS

Hey Jessica
ahhhhhh cancer I know it well - herd that on the frog and made a donation
hey didnt know you were a k frogger ? LOL :cool1::cool1::cool1::thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I am so bummed - Maybe its just me but does anyone remember ( those who have DL anual passes ) Disney closing at 8 pm in the month of Oct ? I thought bec of the Halloween stuff they stayed open late week days ? I guess not :confused3 I called about the Halloween party but decided for 45 bucks I would pass ... SSOOoooooo I wont be meeting you all for that but I can meet you if your going to spend the day there too !:woohoo:
Denver and I are off to Ojai for a pirate faire this weekend ! I will try to get some pics posted of him in his pirate attire :-) He has a bandanna and a little hat - He is going to be SO MAD at me LOL he HATES hats .
Have a great weekend all - WOW the boards are quiet

HELLO EVERYONE!!!

Crap...it's been a little over 2 months since my last post!!! :scared1: I am so sorry guys! School and work have kept me very busy. :sad2: BUT, I am now completely caught up with the boards, and I must say, I've missed you guys!!! :grouphug: Glad to see everyone is doing okay. This is going to be a long message, so I'm sorry.

SUE: I completely understand your doggy situation. We got Duffy (a silky terrier) a little after he was born and after he turned 4, my husband thought it was time for us to get him a buddy, so we got Maggie. Now they are pals and can't be without each other. It's awesome to see them together. Sergio and I will be at Mickey's Trick or Treat Party on my birthday, October 5th, so we won't be able to see you guys on the 15th. I hope you have lots of fun though! I'm excited that it is going to take place at DL instead of DCL, so we'll see how that goes.

CARI:
Hope you have fun camping! I haven't been camping in such a long time. As far as the FE gifts, because I am on a tight budget, I have 3 FE gifts for all 21 cabins that I was going to be distributing. I hope that's okay. :confused3 And they are awesome gifts, if I must say so myself...:rotfl:I might be crazy to be giving gifts to all 21 cabins, but I think it will be fun. :cutie:

JESSICA: I'm sad I didn't know about the KFRG kids radio-thon until today. :sad1: It would have been nice to have donated towards the cause. Maybe you'll be interested in something that I will be a part of (and maybe the rest of the cruise family): On November 13th, I will be walking in the Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes at the Universal Studios backlot. My mother-in-law has diabetes, and I thought it would be awesome to walk in her honor, so I started a team: Team Carmen. If anyone would like to join my team or donate to the cause, please do so by clicking on the following website: http://main.diabetes.org/site/TR/StepOut/LosAngelesArea?px=6129498&pg=personal&fr_id=7340. All donations are 100% tax deductible and every donation counts, no matter how big or small. Thanks guys!

On another note, Sergio and I are SUPER excited for the scavenger hunt coming up! It sucks that you and Ryan will not be joining us for snorkeling, but we completely understand. Sergio still wants to do it, and I'm okay with that. ;) I don't know if you saw my note on FB, but we are so glad you found a job and that your classes are not as crazy as you thought they would be.

RYAN: Thanks for the info on the passporter. I was going to buy it because it is an awesome book (we have the one for WDW), but if there isn't anything on the Mexican Riviera cruises, there is really no point. I'm sure all the information can be easily obtained online anyway.

STEVE AND AMY: I know I am super late, but congrats on completing the half marathon at DL! We are also so proud of you! I hope to join you next year!

CHRIS/GREGG: I'm looking forward to the 44 going on 4 party!

I'm glad everyone is getting their stuff together with the excursions. We checked them out and it looks like we will only be doing the snorkeling in PV. We'll probably do another excursion in Mazatlan, but we aren't sure yet. We want to stay on the boat for at least one stop and we're also not sure whether to sit out Mazatlan or Cabo. Can anyone help us make this decision?

Alright, I think that's enough for now. Hope to hear from you guys soon! :thumbsup2
