Disney Wonder Hawaii Sept. 2015

Is it possible to have a one way car rental from Seattle to Vancouver? My thinking would be to fly UK to Seattle and have a couple of days driving around as we have never visited Washington state, then drive to Vancouver for the cruise. After the cruise, probably fly to Chicago for a couple of days exploring the area before flying back to the UK. Any thoughts or problems, something I might have overlooked?

If you don't want to deal with a car you can take the train to Vancouver a few friends of ours have done this. We booked the Denmark to England but still open to this one if and how it happens.

There is new info on the port calendar! The Honalulu schedule now has Inchcape in port September "16-18" in 2015. Do you think they'll sail from Maui to Honalulu in the evening of the 16th then overnight at the port? Or maybe arrive in port a little before midnight so maybe they needed to list it as in port for part of the 16th? Its still most likely a disembark day/ embark day on the 17th, I guess!

A few pages ago on this thread I posted the following possible scedule (I added in the new info on Honalulu): Inchcape special is the shipping agent and we are fairly certain is code name for Disney wonder on the port calendars! It seems that the wonder will be in Nawiliwili Harbor, Kauai on sept. 14, 2015 and Sept. 21, 2015. It sure looks more and more like DCL is setting up two one-way probably vancouver - hawaii cruises, doesn't it? So far we have:

?Leave maybe vancouver- ?5 days at sea
sunday 9/13 Hilo Harbor
Monday 9/14 Nawiliwili Harbor, Kauai
Tuesday 9/15 Kahului Harbor, Maui 7:45 am overnight
Wednesday 9/16 leaves Maui 6pm
Thursday 9/17 Honalulu Harbor (?Possible arrive evening of 16th. Probably disembark/ embark day)

Thursday 9/17 Honalulu Harbor (Probably disembark/ embark day. Possible overnight in port or leave really late at night for Maui)
Friday 9/18 Maui day of 18th and stay in port overnight
Sat 9/19 leave Maui 6pm
sunday 9/20 Hilo Harbor
Monday 9/21 Nawiliwili harbor, Kauai
then ?5 days at sea to ?Vancouver

The port calendar of hawaii is : http://hidot.hawaii.gov/harbors/pass...ise-schedules/

Anyone else excited?? Let's go! Anyone heard any more rumors?

I guess this means they haven't worked out all the details yet. That calendar keeps changing.
I wish they would move it along already.

I saw an NCL ship that had a one night cruise from Seattle to Vancouver on Sept.27-28 2015. This would have been an awesome way to get to Vancouver if the dates would have worked out to coincide with the possible one-way Vancouver-Honolulu cruise. Pricing starts at $79 per person.

Thanks, not thought about a train so great alternative.

Whatever you do try to avoid THE QUICK SHUTTLE bus service.
We used it twice Last year.
The route from Vancouver to Seattle was not too bad about 2 1/2-3 hours.
BUT the route from Seattle to Vancouver was almost 8 hours.

We were on that bus longer than on the plane from Ft. Lauderdale to Seattle.

Next time we will most certainly take the train or fly over.

8 hours ?!!!! OMG that would drive me NUTS! Thanks for the warning, drive or train it is then.

If you don't go though DCL to purchase Airline tickets, What or where is the best and cheapest option? any Ideas???

Yes you can find one way car rentals, look for ones with unlimited mileage or it could add up to extra charges fast. We've done this since it's cheaper to fly to Seattle than Vancouver.

Why did the bus take so long?

Woody

Countless stops to pick up passengers. Plus many more stops to drop them off. On the way from Canada Place(Vancouver) there were only 2 stops at 2 different airports.
On the Seattle-Vancouver route they can pick people up in Seattle all the way up to the border. On the reverse trip they cannot. We learned that a bit too late.

The train is another good way to go. We did this last year on our way to Vancouver.it leaves early at 730am so you need to get there before 7am so bags can be checked. It takes 4 hours and customs takes place at the terminal in Vancouver. From the time the train left to the time I checked into the hotel at Canada place was less than 5 hours.

I am so tempted to open my own Seattle- Vancouver shuttle service (being in the Seattle area myself) after reading all these posts! ;)

If you do, have a pick up in Bellingham also.

The last few times we flew to Bellingham instead of Seattle or Vancouver. It cost about the same as Seattle and took about the same amount of time since we had a lay over. The distance for someone to pick us up was shorter in Bellingham than Vancouver and was much cheaper to fly into.

So is it looking like 2 10day cruises?

I'm wondering what kind of a "deal" they'll come up with to add a night or two at Aulani.

An expensive one. Nothing about these one ways will be reasonable I don't think. Good move on Disney's part though! Good way to get people to buy DVC. That's how it happened for me!

I don't doubt it's a marketing ploy, and hope it works better than the two round-trips in 2012. We really enjoyed the 15-day cruise round-trip but DH was getting rather antsy toward the end of all those sea days.

The only good thing is that I doubt I'll be on them. The airfare will be too much. It's a fantastic Idea for Disney though. Hopefully they offer land and sea packages. WITH transportation to and from Aulani and the airport. Now that would be awesome.
