My family recently completed our second cruise on the Disney Wonder. We were surprised at how much vibration could be felt in our cabins at night, especially when docking. We were on deck 2 aft, cabin numbers 2638 & 2640. The vibration at night when we were cruising between ports was noticeable but not horrible however the vibration during docking was very bad. We have booked another cruise on the Wonder next year and our cabins are on deck 2 again but this time we are mid ship near the mid elevators. Does anyone know how far forward you have to go to get away from engine vibration?

I've been in cabin 2050 which is just forward of the mid elevators, and we didn't notice any vibration - just horrible banging from the vacuuming of the night-club every night above us around 3 - 4 a.m. I sincerely hope they've rectified that somehow now though! ;) It was a perfectly quiet location other than that, and now the Edge isn't even nearby to have loud kids nearby in the elevator lobby down there. More careful vacuuming so they didn't bang against the booth each time would have taken care of it, and we did report it to the head of Housekeeping via guest services, so I'm sincere in my hope that they've changed their procedure.

We were in 2060 on the 2015 WBPC Cruise. It was smooth and quiet, even in rough seas. Directly below our room were the stabilizers. We could see them out the window. We did notice a slight vibration when they put them in or out AND we were awake, but never noticed while sleeping. We woke up docked every time, without interruption.

The vibration you felt while docking is the side thrusters. they have them front and back so in the middle you should feel them less but still feel them.
the vibration you felt and thought was the engines is not them but the wash from the propellors. that you can only feel in the rear of the ship.

We were Deck 2 bow.... anchor noise can be a problem docking in the morning. Love those windows!

Ugh....thanks for the heads up, we're in 2638 in January and the cruise is almost sold out. No hope to move, so I guess we will have to just deal. Other than the vibration how was the room? We will have a 3 year old and one year old, is it too small for a pack in play or a crib? This is our first family cruise. The last Disney cruise I went on was in 2002. Thanks!

Overall both our rooms were good. It's really easy and fast to get from the room to Tiana's, Animator's, Cabanas and deck 1 for disembarking at ports. Your life boat station will be Q and is located in Animator's Palette. The vibration at night cruising between ports was noticeable but we were able to sleep through it. The sound and vibration during docking was a different story. Everyone in both rooms woke up on days we docked early. So unless you guys are really sound sleepers expect to be up when the ship docks. Our girls are 1 and 3 years old as well and they loved it. The 3 year old slept with grandma in 2640 and the 1yr old slept in a pack in play with us in 2638. The pack in play fit fine in front of the window between the couch and desk. You will probably want to take it down during the day so you can use the couch. The room has a curtain devider between the bed and the window so she sort of had her own room at night when we closed the curtain.

Anchor noise is only a problem when anchoring at sea and not docking. there are very few ports that dcl anchor at. grand cayman is a tender port and st thomas occasionally.

Thank for the heads up, and a discription about the room. I'm a super light sleeper, but the kiddos and DH are deep sleepers. I appreciate you answering me!

Thanks for letting me know what to expect!

We were in cabin 2050 in August and there was no banging at all. :)

Also, to be clear to anyone reading this booked in (or looking at 2050) the nightclub isn't directly above this room. There must have been some way that the banging vacuum acoustically caused some sort of vibration to travel through or something (maybe something about the construction of the ship?) because the nightclub is further forward. 2050 is under Guest Services.

Just got off the Wonder in 2082 and 2084. We still felt a little vibration. We liked it though. It helped us get to sleep.

I'm so happy to hear this! I just booked this room for our 11 night Norwegian Fjords/Iceland cruise in June. I have never stayed on deck 2 before so I was a little concerned. I'm glad to read it was smooth even in rough seas.

Yep, that was it exactly! With everything being metal, the sound bounced around and it seems that it would have affected all the cabins in that area. After being woken by it night after night, I finally couldn't take it any more and the last night on night 7 I got up in the middle of the night with my camera in hand prepared to investigate and find the source of the noise. They were vacuuming in both the area behind guest services and the nightclub, but it was definitely the back and forth vacuuming against the nightclub booths that was the issue. Picture vacuuming quickly in a small space against all of the booth edges - back up 12 inches and bang back into the booth, move over and back up again and bang into the next section, and repeat over and over again. I have it on video, and I'm sure the cleaning crew worker wondered why this crazy lady is videoing him in the middle of the night!

This was the best room. It was so easy to access after excursions and even during dinner or in the lobby. We were waiting in line for a character greet and it turned out to be the formal "all character" greet, so I ran to the room with the kiddo and put on formal gear, then switched and my partner went down and got dressed. I also did laundry during dinner at Tritons/Tianas. One flight of stairs down. It was SOOOO easy. I will stay on deck 2 midship every time we sail DCL.
