Disney Wonder crew member exposes himself

Omer Songur, who worked in the food and beverage department, was arrested by Brevard county sheriffs deputies when the ship docked at port.
He was arrested on suspicion he was exposing himself to passengers on the ship.
Disney plans to deport him back to Turkey.
Somebody not doing backround checks at Disney?

YOu would think that Disney would do SEVERE backround checks, especially with the amout of sexual based offenders there are in the world that not only visit the resorts, but may be on the cruises.
Whch begs to ask the question, do they perform backround checks on passengers to ensure that NO convicted pedofiles are on board???????

Yes for every person paying for a $2K cabin they do a background check for $4K.

Aren't most of these cruise ships based out of Foreign countires and crewed by mostly Foreign workers?

The Magic & Wonder are REGISTERED in the Bahamas (mostly for tax reasons), but they are BASED out of Port Canaveral.

Since they sail out of the US, they are subject to American Law while in port & local waters. I'm not real sure how it works when out at sea (keelhauling? walking the plank?), but since the guy was detained by local officials, some sort of jurisdiction must apply. Maybe they were acting as agents for the INS since deportation seems to be in this guy's future.....................

I guess my point is despite it being a "Disney ship"..."I doubt the people and countires these ships are based out of and have control over hiring and backgroung checks...I doubt that is very high on their list of things to do. Considering that most third world countires seem to think running around half naked and marring 12 year olds is perfectly fine.
