Disney Wonder - Alaska - August 10, 2015

Travel plans to Vancouver and from are finalized! We are doing a mega-road trip to get to Vancouver from Baltimore, stopping in Denver (DS is a Bronco's fan) and the Redwood National Forest. We'll be at a hotel in North Vancouver the night of the 9th and ready to board the ship as soon as we can on the 10th. Is it around 1pm that we can come aboard?

We will definitely be doing a whale watching and glacier excursion to Mendenhall. Also a Jeep off-roading tour!

I haven't decided yet about FE. Is there a thread that can be linked that gives guidelines for the gifts? (price ranges, etc.)

Also does anyone have any experience with upgrading either beforehand or at port?? I'm booked to a 10C Deluxe Inside room but am starting to think about a verandah.

My cousin is on the Dream TODAY(!) for a short weekend cruise out of Port Canaveral. Her arrival photos have me soooooo anxious and excited!

That sounds Awesome! We have to still decide on excursions. I did sit and price all the airline options today (and I'm sick of looking at it). Planning to go back to it tonight and actually book airfare and Amtrack. (We are flying into Seattle and Amtrack into Vancouver on the way there/bus on the way back to Seattle and flying home). I'd love to road trip it and take a week or two to get there, but that won't work for us this year.

We do not have guidelines for price ranges on FE. You give as little or as much as you want - at least one gift per stateroom. Just send me a private message if you decide to join, and I'll get your information and share with you the others information.

I've upgraded beforehand, but never at port. I just emailed my travel agent, she priced the upgrade and I went with it. Unless it's changed, prices are what they were on the day you booked, not necessarily current prices.

I booked our next cruise yesterday - November on the Magic. I always have to have a Disney trip planned or I just feel like I'm going crazy! LOL So I wanted to make sure I would have one booked when we returned from Alaska.

So how is everyone's planning going? We have booked airfare. We ended up making this a shorter trip that I had originally planned, but it's because we've booked ANOTHER CRUISE for November on the Magic. We are flying into Seattle on the 7th, spending the 8th in Seattle sightseeing, taking the Amtrak on the morning of the 9th into Vancouver, sightseeing there the afternoon of the 9th (so not much), and then boarding on the 10th!

Now it's time to finalize excursions and start making FE gifts!!

Would anyone be interested in participating in a private tasting for us? These are usually around $20 - They have different ones like mixology, wine, champagne, tequila/margarita, rum, etc. We are starting a list to see if there is enough interest.

My immediate family has cruised with Disney once before on the Dream to the Bahamas but it's the first time for the rest of the family. I traveled to Alaska about 20 years ago and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I can't wait to get back!!

Six of us are flying into Vancouver on Aug. 7. The other 4 are flying into Seattle and taking the train from there.

BTW, me and my fiancee are in Newport News. Not far from your parents But we are getting married the week before in Los Angeles. So we are flying into Vancouver from Los Angeles the morning of. Our flight lands at 9:30am that morning. We will be fine getting on board bright and early

We are doing a Private Mixology Class. Please let me know if you'd like to take part in it. By signing up, you are agreeing to be charged $20.00 per adult for the Mixology class on the Disney Wonder during the 8/10 sailing to Alaska. It will appear on your stateroom bill at the end of your cruise. This class will be exclusive to our group. We do NOT have a set date yet. However, we can guarantee that this class will be held on a Sea Day. In order for them to schedule the class, we have to have a minimum of 20 participants.
