I've been back from my 3 wk Disney adventure for 2 wks now and I STILL find myself missing it. Every picture sparks a memory, and it seems I only want to go BACK to Disney now! Does anyone have any advice for dealing with "Disney world withdrawls"? :confused3

Wow, you guys are soooo lucky to have had 3 week vacations there! The longest I have ever been to WDW was for 9 days.

I find reading the trip reports help, believe it or not. It makes me appreciate all the differences that people experience when they visit. For example, we went in July - very hot and crowded but a lot of fun. Some of the Sept postings sound so wonderful - still warm and beautiful but less crowded. Makes me think about HOW I'll plan the next trip - what time of year, the pros and cons etc. The reality is we can't go every year - finicially and logistically but I can take a little time along the way, to figure it all out for the next trip. :bitelip:

The DIS helps with withdrawals but here are other suggestions:

Order a copy of the WDW planning videos (if you don't already have them)

Make a scrap book with all of your theme park brochures and leave it in a convenient place so that you can get a quick "Disney fix"

Create a notebook with Disney ideas for future trips (must see or do, priority seating for restaurants you don't want to miss, park tours, etc.)

One thing DH and I had done was dedicate a book case in our family room to Disney souveniers but after our recent trip (BCV - DVC Member Cruise - BCV) we have decided to turn our office into our Disney room. This will become our Disney getaway while at home.

Good luck. Annmarie

I know exactly how you feel. After a two week trip I came home and had extreme withdrawal. I decorated my bathroom with everything Mickey. Now at least in the mornings I can get up and feel a little of the magic. The scrapbook idea was also a great one. When you're feeling low, you can pull it out and relive all of those great memories. We are also planning a Disney cruise for next year. This time we invited lots of people and are having our first planning session this weekend. I can't wait. :cool1:

We did the same thing. We took our godchild and his family (6 of them) to Disney in June 2005. In August 2004, we had a small bbq with them and someone said we should plan a trip to Disney together. I quickly ran into the house and pulled out my DVC Vacation Planner. I asked them when would be a good time for them and everyone started laughing. They were just talking about going but I was taking action. I planned an eight day stay using mostly our vacation points. We got a 2-BR and a studio at BCV for the nine of us ranging in ages from 9 to 50-something.

Every time we got together we would discuss our trip and future plans. It was a lot of fun doing it this way. As soon as the new WDW dvd was available I ordered a copy and we all watched it together. We had so much fun planning everything from what time we would catch our flights to and from Orlando to priority seating for special dinners.

We had a great time planning and preparing for our trip and plan on doing something similar in two years. Annmarie

well I was only there for 3 days (just back yesterday) and I am wishing I was still there!! This happens all the time though!! I guess I will have to start making plans for that Dec trip!! Now to find the funds!! LOL

you need to come to our evening chats if you can and when someone asks a question.....speak up and let us all know .........ALSO how about a trip report and tell us where you went and what you ate..........taht always makes me WANT MORE........we all go thru disney withdrawals.........so come on in and let us hear it

I go through withdrawal too. It helps to do a trip report and organize pics into an album. What also helps me is to start planning my next vacation. I'd love to do WDW again but DH would never go for it 2 years in a row. I'm thinking about a cruise for next year... I'm tempted to shoot for a Disney cruise. But the research and planning will get my mind off of the withdrawal.

Well, Padfoot. You could wile the hours away until your next trip with Mooney, Wormtail, and Prongs. Where are they in your time of need? Although, you might want to keep away from Wormtail. I hear he is a bad influence.

:rotfl: Sorry. I couldn't help myself. :rotfl:
