Bored right now and am thinking of Disney. I went to a contract position at work so I can go out on my own. I have three clients and the money coming in is fine but I am not overly busy. Time to think about what was our very short June trip to WDW.

If you read my New Years Eve TR with my daughter, her mom and aunt, we did a blow out at multiple restaurants and had a great time. There were no trips planned after that. I bought four-day passes and DD and I skipped going to the parks one day so we were left with a park hopper that has to be used by June 30. On the drive home from that trip, I called member services and got a studio at VWL for three days right after school let out. I really wanted to stay at Beach Club because of their mini water park so we were waitlisted there. It came through.

Then I got the opportunity to join a dive trip to the Dry Tortugas on a live aboard boat. The problem was it was during the time of our Disney trip. Called MS to postpone for a few days and got a 1 BR, again at VWL and waitlisted for a studio at BCV. That has since come through. I relented and agreed to take her best friend with us. From now on she will be referred to as DDBF.

They are two peas in a pod and good kids. DDBF went with us last summer for a few days at POFQ, my favorite moderate. We spent some time in the parks, they had tea at the GF and we enjoyed dinner at the California Grill. All in all a nice trip. When it was relaxing day, I would not be hounded by the child to join her in the pool because she had a friend to play with. This time she wants me to let them loose alone in the parks. I don’t know if Disney is ready for that.

WE HAVE NO ADRS FOR THIS TRIP! Since it was to be a short trip, I planned on doing CS and snacks. Then I realized this was probably going to be our lone trip over the summer. Called MS yesterday and added Friday and Saturday (was surprised it was open) and waitlisted for Monday.

Now what to do? I want this to be fun but don’t want to spend a ton of money. California Grill is out (I doubt we could even get in) but probably tea. The plan right now is to spend a day or two at the parks, a water park day and the rest of the time chilling at the resort. Where the NYE trip was focused on food, this one we will center on water.

Have to start planning even though it is late. First thing to do is decide on our park days and go from there. We will probably do commando in the parks so I want to spread them out. Then if there are any food things we want to do, I will have to pray to the ADR gods that we can get close to what we want.

Will I survive? We shall see.

Hi there! I really enjoyed reading your previous TR from New Years so I am looking forward to this latest one. Glad to hear your plan is taking shape now and that you got BCV - I love it there:thumbsup2

I think you got your title absolutely right -you are so brave(aka crazy nuts) taking two teenage girls on holiday - one is definitely enough for me -good luck!

Off to check out your Thanksgiving TR now.

You are one brave man taking 2 teens. I enjoyed your other trip reports. And yes you are crazy nuts ;)

It sounds like a great trip. We have taken quite a number of trips with 4 teenagers, 2 ours and 2 friends. In one way, we think, the more the merrier. If they know their way around Disney and are responsible, they can 'stretch their wings' and enjoy a good chunk of independance in a safe environment! I know ours were amazed when we let them go on their own. they had a ball.

Hi to you,

Do they get any better when they turn 16 or do they get worse? Right now we don’t have any plans other than the room reservations. How are your plans shaping up for the July trip?

They only think we are staying the three nights so it will be a surprise when I tell them about the add on days. Everyone keep it quiet OK? I plan on telling them on what would be our check out day.

I am bringing duct tape in case it is necessary. The real annoying thing about them is they take forever getting ready for the day. Much primping involved. On their last trip they spent two hours on hair and make up to go to a water park. Huh?

Yea, I know they would love it. The problem is I’ll miss out on all the fun.

I have 2 DDs, so that's just normal for us. As for letting them go alone, we did that when the oldest was 15 and the other 11. They spent the morning and lunch at the Disney Institute and did not want us to "pick them up". So they took the bus from what is now SSR to DHS, rode RNR over and over until we showed up waiting for them (before cell phones)

Oh, It gets worse after 16 - I have been told they start getting better around 25 - time will tell:worship:
We are all set for July -flights booked, rooms booked (BCV and AKV) and I even made some ADRs the other day:cool1: I just need to arrange ME now and everything will be done. I have never been to WDW without a car before but I am sure we'll manage fine.

The girls will be so excited when they find out but don't worry- I won't breathe a word about the extra days;)

Going to HHI with my dd and her bf. They are 18. If they want to spend 2 hours getting ready, they better get up really early. That`ll be the day I wait for them to get "ready" for a waterpark. However, at their age, they can meet me there. At WDW, if they know how to use the transportation, they can come and go as they please, so we dont have to wait for them.

I kind of figured that was the case. Hoepfully I will make it to when she turns 25. Sounds like you have a great trip planned. Have fun

They knew we would be at rope drop or they would not be going so they got up early. It was pretty funny, not 5 minutes after entering the park they went on their fist slide and ended up looking like drowned rats. It kept me chuckling the rest of the day.

Your trip reports are the best. Your writing style and descriptions are excellent. And I love your observations about your daughter. It's obvious you two have a wonderful relationship.

Yes, I think I will keep her. After all, we are stuck with each other. Thanks fo the kind words for the TRs. Much appreciated.
