Hi! We just decided to do a last minute trip to DLR with our kiddos ages 6, 4, and 16 months. We'll be there for 3 days, staying at the Clarion. I've done Disney a few times, but never with a baby. Our 16 month old doesn't walk yet, so that makes it a little easier :) but I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on taking a baby along. How does it work on rides? Can she go on a lot of the Fantasyland rides with us? What about diaper changing?....any advice would be helpful. Thanks!!!!

-Also, is the Clarion easy walking distance? Or should we plan to drive and park? We got that hotel off the lastminutetravel "undercover hotel" deal for $52/night!!!! I'm excited about that!

Thanks:goodvibes

The baby will be able to go on anything without a height requirement. So anything in Fantasyland other than Matterhorn. :goodvibes

The baby can go on any ride without a height limit and sit on your lap. This is most of fantasyland, potc, hm, etc. Have fun!

Does she enjoy a stroller ~ if so great, do you have a *nicer* carrier/sling/mei tei if so I'd swap between the stroller and the carrier for her. Have fun!

Ditto all the above posters about the rides. We took my son for the first time when he was 16 months old and my daughter when she was 9 months old.

The Baby Care Center is located right next to the photo viewing area on Main Street, they have all the things you will need for your little one. Google Disneyland Baby Care Center to see some pictures.

All the restrooms also have changing stations.

We bring the stroller with us all the time, both my kids napped in it, which was great!

Have a great trip!

I brought both of my kids for the first time when they were 8.5 months old and still exclusively nursing, and we all had a blast! I'm probably going alone with my baby (11 months now) one day next week. She loves Small World and POTC.

The Baby Care Center is wonderful and centrally located, and there is one at DCA as well.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm glad she can go on rides with us. I think she'll love it...or freak out! :) We have a mei tei and a stroller, so we'll bring both. Thanks!

also for the rides that the baby can't go on you can do a parent swap. This is where one parent waits in line and rides the ride with the older kids and then when they exit the other parent can go up the exit and ride it with there kids again.

We did this with are 3 kids and it was great. just ask a CM for a parent swap pass.

I love my Mei Tai at DL! It's a little cumbersome, but you don't have to take it off when going on rides. I even nursed DD in the Mei Tai while on POTC, and my 4yo sitting next to me didn't even know!

We took our daughter for the first time when she was 16 months old. She loved it! If you want, I would highly recommend a character breakfast. We did the one at the Plaza Inn and my DD couldn't get enough of Pooh Bear, she followed him around everywhere.

We did the baby swap at DLR, US, and SeaWorld. We had a 3 year old and a 1 year old. The cool thing was our 3 yo was tall enough for many of the rides so he got to go one twice. Once with one parent then again with the 'child swap' parent. He got the best deal.

Another fan of the parent swap pass! We took our oldest DS for the first time when he was 11 months old and he had a blast! :thumbsup2 We always made sure to bring his favorite toys/blankies with us, just in case he got a little too worked up over something, and extra clothes and diapers.... just in case!

I would consider a character meal, since you also have the other kiddos to entertain. Make sure you balance baby things with bigger kid things so that everyone has fun and is relaxed, and you should have a great time together! :thumbsup2

The Clarion 'is' within waking distance, but only for adults and teens. :sad2:

We have gone with our kids when they were that little (and will be there in two weeks with them again!), its always fun!! You can read my trip reports for more ideas but I think the biggest thing is being (and staying) calm and making sure everyone (including the grownups) gets enough food and sleep.
