Mickey called again early this morning to let us know it was time to go to AK. Everyone was ready to go on time today! :)
We headed to Dinosaur after taking a dozen pictures with Terk, Louie, and Rafiki. DD and MIL sat out on Dinosaur. It was a lot of fun to get to ride it with DH since last year we had to do baby swap and ride separately. Grabbed 6 fast passes for Kilimanjaro Safari and headed to Tusker House. Breakfast was okay.
We then used our fastpass for the safari and grabbed another fastpass, this one for Kali River Rapids. While we were waiting for our fast pass time, we walked the Maharaja Jungle Trek and the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. The coolest thing on these trails was seeing the bats hanging upside down. They really had cute little faces, not that I would want to meet one at night or anything. We all loved the Kali River Rapids. We took off our shoes and socks in line and put on our ponchos. I know we looked like freaks, but after being drenched the other night at Fantasmic, we REALLY did not want to walk around in wet clothes again. We would have liked to have ridden the raft ride again, but we were trying to see everything in half a day.
We headed off to the Boneyard. Here is where we had our first temper tantrum on the trip. Courtney was getting tired and GROUCHY. But that's okay, because I got the pictures of our trip back from Wal-Mart and the picture of her pouting on a dinosaur fossil can be used to blackmail her when she is a teenager.
We were reluctant to go see Its Tough to be a Bug because we thought DD might freak out, but she really wanted to see it. We had skipped it last year. We waited inside the tree and the music of the bugs worried Courtney. But the middle of the movie where it looks like the bugs and spiders are going to get us finally did her in. She cried and cried. Luckily by the time the movie was over, Courtney had calmed down again. We skipped Festival of the Lion King since we had seen it last year and did not like it well enough to see it again.
We had planned on having lunch at AK, but decided to grab something to eat at Beaches and Cream. Big mistake. It was packed. The pool had closed due to bad weather in the area and EVERYONE had decided to go get something to eat at the same time. We were told there was a 30-minute wait. This is counter service! We decided to take our food back to our room. DH and I both had hamburgers and DD had a hot dog. The burgers were really good and it came with a delicious homemade chocolate chip cookie. In-laws decided to pass on the food and decided to nap instead (which we did for about 45 minutes after eating).
About 4:00 we got our e-night tickets and headed to the MK. FIL finally broke down and bought some tennis shoes. He had only brought sandals and had been suffering with blisters since the first day we were there. He was not happy about spending so much money on shoes- he is somewhat attached to his money to put it nicely. We headed off to Toontown to ride Goofy's barnstormer. I did not want to get on it since I do not like roller coasters at all. Everyone laughed at me for my trepidation in line. I got through it and was almost as brave as DD- okay, I was a lot less brave. (LOL!)
We had dinner at Cosmic Ray's and then DD, SIL, MIL, and I rode the teacups together. I like to go round and round so SIL and I were making it spin as much as we could. It took MIL a few minutes to get her equilibrium stabilized. We rode Junge Cruise which we had done many times, but never at night. I thought it was even more enjoyable at night. We decided to skip Spectromagic and just enjoyed riding rides with little or no wait since everyone else was watching the parade.
When it was time for e-night, we went to HM. DD, who has ridden it several times, all of a sudden decided that it was really scary. DH, FIL, SIL, and I rode HM again and DD waited with MIL. Everyone but me wanted ice cream so we went to Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. I had a terrible craving for chocolate milk this trip. Everyone thought I was pregnant because my craving for Nesquick was so intense, but it was a false alarm. I went in search of my drug while they enjoyed their ice cream. After that we went to Tomorrowland. Courtney wanted to ride Buzz about 10 times which DH and I did with her. Then DH, FIL, SIL, and I went to Alien Encounter. DD sat out with MIL. We did not mean to keep leaving Courtney with Virginia but she had no interest in most of the big rides. We closed the place down that night. Courtney fell asleep on the bus and we decided to let her sleep instead of getting her ready for bed. DH and I made a promise to just scrub her extra good tomorrow.
