Hi All, my wife and I have a very important questions for families that have brought a 3mo old to WDW...how did it go and would you do it again lol! We are debating a trip for this coming December with my parents, wife, son, and soon to arrive baby (who would be 3mo old) if we decided to go in December. Everyones schedule is working out and we all have to use the vacation time before the end of the year so we are considering a December trip! Are we CRAZY lol! We would have my parents with us to help out with the baby as well. If you could let me know your experience that would be great! We would be staying at a 2bedroom villa. Thanks so much!

Our little one is now 2 1/2 years old and his 1st trip was when he was 4 months old. He was easy! I baby wear and nurse, so it was an easy trip with him....the older ones were the hard part, lol. There's a lot to consider though with babies....not all infants are easy. My only complaint is that my son wasn't sleeping through the night at that age, whereas my older 2 slept through the night at 2 months old...so I assumed he would too....NOPE, not until 16 months old! Anyway...given that you don't have the baby yet to know his/her personality....good luck deciding! Good idea on bringing the grandparents. :thumbsup2

We went with a two month old. She hung out in the sling all day. She was nursing, so feeding was easy. I did have to make sure I have extra water for me, as the nursing made me so thirsty. Also, she was still in the frequent diaper change phase, so plan for that, including extra outfits. Now, the barely 3 year old we went with on that same trip was a challenge! But 2 months old, not an issue.

My kids were not sleeping through the night at that age, not even the 3 year old that trip! But since we co slept and she fell back to sleep quickly, it was not an issue.

Would I take a 2 month old again? Absolutely. Would I take my eldest at barely 3 again, um, not sure. That was our first with-kids Disney trip. We learned a lot. So much, that we went back again 6 months later determined to do a better job. And we did!

We did WDW 5 years ago with a 5 month old and will be there in December as well with a 3 month old. They are pretty easy at that age, generally speaking. Get a good supportive baby carrier; they will typically let you even wear baby on the rides, and it helps keep baby from being overstimulated. Think Ergo, Tula, Kinderpack, something like that. My oldest was a difficult baby, but did fine at WDW - all she really wanted was to be snuggled against mama 24/7, and we even had one day where it poured all day long. I was able to tuck a fleece blanket around her, wear my fleece jacket over the carrier, and with a hat on top and an umbrella, she was dry and snug as a bug. I would much rather take a 3 month old than a child in the 9-18 month range. Since you already have one child, you should have an idea of how the parenting thing works ;) so that'll help too.

One suggestion I have is regarding diapers. Many babies go through a phase where they have daily blowouts (yuck!) and we had a tough time dealing with that at WDW. We normally use cloth diapers at home, which seriously contain the mess, such that with DS I think we only had 2 blowouts in his first 6 months, and with DD we had 1-2 a day just during the 7 days we were at Disney. I don't want to deal with washing cloth diapers while we are on our trip, but I am planning on bringing diaper covers to put over his disposable diapers to contain blowouts so we don't have the same mess and changes of clothing we had last time. I really like these: http://www.diapers.com/p/thirsties-cloth-diaper-cover-hook-loop-ocean-blue-946447 They are inexpensive but work great, and really hold in the mess. I would suggest getting 2-3; they can be rinsed out in the sink and hung to dry overnight. I'd also suggest a wet bag for dirty clothes to keep them separate from everything else.

(My middle still doesn't sleep through the night, and he's 2.5!)

Thank you all so very much, this makes us feel much better about going to WDW with a 3month old!! Wish us luck lol!

My son's first trip was when he was 6 weeks old. Easiest. Trip. Ever. I had a Baby B'jorn and just packed him along. He went on most rides like that and was very easy.

I didn’t go to WDW, but I did take a family vacation when my baby was 4 months old, and it went fairly well. She did fine on the plane, and slept a lot in her stroller as we went around. I actually think going then would have been easier. We took her to DL at 15 months and she wanted to run around instead of wait in the lines, it’s easier before they can walk!

Each of our 3 kids made their first Disney trip at about that age and I have to agree with the other posters that in general they are pretty easy at that age. Go on the trip, have fun, and get some great pictures!

My son's first trip he was 3mo. I also had my 5yo DD and 2yo DS. We traveled with extended family and had a blast. My son, although not the easiest baby the first 3 mo, did so great on the trip. He had just started sleeping through the night, I wore him all day in a Beco carrier, never having to take him out for rides. We arrived close to opening and he would nap every morning for 3 hours while being worn. I was nursing him too so that made feedings super easy. Great memories!

We went in March with our (at the time) 6 month old. We also took my 8 and 9 year olds and hubby's 10 and 12 year olds. The baby was the easiest by far. Napped in carrier/stroller. Gave us no problems....very easy going. The other kids, however, just about drove us crazy.

We need a vacation from our vacation because it was so chaotic so hubby and I and our son who will be 1 are going back in September. The other kids will be with their other parents during this trip so it will definitely be less chaotic. I think you will be fine with a 3 month old.

It wasn't disney, but my husband and I took our first vacation with our baby when he was 3 months this past June. It was great. Any earlier would have been too soon. I feel like any trip when mom is still exclusively nursing is super easy bc you can do it almost anywhere and don't have to worry about bringing food or bottles.

I have a DS8 and DS2. I bottle fed both my kids from birth. I do not sling/wear them. We don't co-sleep. We use regular Pampers. I work FT. So I am not a typical mom compared to a lot of people these boards.

I took both kids to WDW my last week of maternity leave so they were both 11 weeks old for their first trips. With first DS it was in June, second DS it was October. Easiest trips EVER! Except for having to pack some of the extra gear (we fly) it really was no big deal at all. They are so easy, happy and content at that age. My kids are 6.5 years apart and honestly our last 3 trips, my older DS has been more of an issue than my little one :confused3 I would not hesitate to take a 3 month :thumbsup2

We went with our 3 month old GD in Aug last year and I can honestly say that we didn't encounter one problem. She slept on the plane and a lot of the time in the parks. We attached a little fan to her stroller so that she wouldn't get over heated. She was sleeping through the night so that wasn't a problem. She loved the characters and interacted with them and every morning when she got up she babbled on and on almost like she was telling us about all the stuff that she had seen! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences, we are so excited for our trip in December and feel even better about bringing our 3mo old! Can't wait!!
