Wish vs Utopia OTS. WWYD? Thinking of adding on 3-night cruise to Disney Christmas vacation. It would be 2 adults and 2 kids (son aged 6, turning 7 over this trip and daughter aged 15). It’s about $2500 difference between the two cruises with Disney being the most expensive (both are balcony/verandah) rooms. We have sailed with both cruise lines before but it has been quite a few years. Prefer Disney, but have not been on Royal’s newest ships and $2500 is a big difference for just 3 nights.

I'm thinking that an extra $2,500.00 can get a lot of additional *Magic* so it's Utopia OTS for family and me.

I am thinking that, price difference aside, these are two very different experiences and you will find many different opinions as to whether the price difference is worth it and what each ship has to offer.

Now, you are referring to a Christmas vacation... so would this be a merrytime cruise? If so, there are a few extra touches on the Disney ship that would be nice, especially if the cruise sails over Christmas eve or NYE (which would not be a merrytime cruise, but still would have extra celebrations). Worth an extra $2,500? Really hard to say.

Now, the Destiny out of Fort Lauderdale tends to be slightly cheaper when sailing around similar dates, and sometimes you even have one extra night out of it.

Keep in mind Royal usually has different sleeping arrangements in their cabins. So your 15yo and your 7yo will have to share a pull out bed. Now if your $2500 savings already includes connecting cabins, it's a no brainer for me.

We had a 5 night Magic booked for this summer, but I wanted something a little longer. I personally did not love the Wish (you with kids might feel differently) but after exploring some, Utopia was the winner and we added that on to do the day we get off the Magic (the Wish would have been an option too). So I had a similar situation and chose Utopia. Unfortunately I haven't sailed yet so I can't say how I liked it but I from what I've seen I think I will prefer it over the Wish (and the price),

Did Utopia back in Jan. It's a nice ship. We did the 4 night, wasn't as party heavy as what advertisements and people make it sound to be...very easily can find quiet spots, and was honestly surprised by the amount of kids on the ship.
