The layout felt ok, but the room seems narrower than on other ships. The space at the end of the bed is tighter than it should be. The bathroom also felt narrower. The storage was fine - 3 closets, full length on both ends and shelves in the middle. There are a few smaller drawers in the main living area. How did you feel about the overall layout of the family oceanview? Did your room have the huge porthole with the seat?
Adults travelling with kids don’t spend nearly as much time in the adult only pool area as adults travelling without kids do.Won’t the the same number of adults be on all the other cruises? The number of kids will increase but I highly doubt the number of adults will be decrease by much. The adult areas are still going to be crammed.
This ^. I’ve never seen the adult areas as packed as I have on this cruise.Adults travelling with kids don’t spend nearly as much time in the adult only pool area as adults travelling without kids do.
Do you have a picture of your cabin and the number? We are booked in a forward cabin for November and wondering what it looks like. Thanks. The layout felt ok, but the room seems narrower than on other ships. The space at the end of the bed is tighter than it should be. The bathroom also felt narrower. The fridge is a sliding drawer. It felt smaller and was full with only 4 Dasani water bottles.
We had the Murphy bed and it seems they upgraded the mattress. It definitely felt better than other ships but perhaps that is because it is brand new.
The glass door to the shower was a nice upgrade. The bathroom and living area mirrors also have frame lighting, which was a nice touch.
As for the window, we had a very large window but there is no seat, meaning there is no padding in the window. You can sit there, but it is hard and not comfortable. That was disappointing.
There also aren’t many of these rooms on the ship. Only at the very far aft and forward. We were aft so we did a lot of walking to get to our room because the aft elevators/stairs are more like midship.
I somehow managed not to get a picture of the room. I was too busy taking photos of all the other spaces! We were in 8678.Do you have a picture of your cabin and the number? We are booked in a forward cabin for November and wondering what it looks like. Thanks.
But adults travelling with kids won't do as much "adults only" stuffWon’t the the same number of adults be on all the other cruises? The number of kids will increase but I highly doubt the number of adults will be decrease by much. The adult areas are still going to be crammed.
With all the reviews and reactions dropping in, the consensus seems to be:
Pros:
- The Wish is beautiful
- The food is better
- The new shows are amazing (both new shows, right?)
- Dinner shows are very good (or is it just Frozen, and Marvel is too many screens?)
Cons:
- Confusing layout (Hard to solve, next drydock)
- Adult areas are small (Hard to solve, next drydock)
- No promenade (Hard to solve, next drydock)
- Lack of storage space in stateroom (Can be solved, but not the easiest to solve)
- Lack of snacks (Can be solved)
In the middle:
- Aquamouse
Does this sound about right?
What didn't you like about them? It seems most everyone loved Little Mermaid.Personally, I would put both new shows in the Cons category.

We didn't find this to be a problem. It only seemed to control the lights. No need for them if you aren't in the room. You need to put a card to be able to access lights in your room. If you leave it in their pushed down the host will prop it back out. It's annoying when you want it to run 24/7
This is true on all DCL ships. They don't want you running lights and other appliances 24/7 because it wastes fuel. That's the whole point.-You need to put a card to be able to access lights in your room. If you leave it in their pushed down the host will prop it back out. It’s actually not true on the classic ships, but the intent is the same. The purpose of the card is to save electricity by not lighting the room while you’re out. Just like they also ask you not to leave the verandah doors open so you can, as my father would say, air condition the outside. This is true on all DCL ships. Do you have to go to Palo's at embarkation to make the reservation? We were able to get Palo for the first night once on board.
I used a spare card and placed that into my slot card but my room host always kept propping the card back up.We didn't find this to be a problem. It only seemed to control the lights. No need for them if you aren't in the room.
Tip: Bring a spare card from some previous cruise/hotel stay and put that in the slot rather than one of your room cards.
We did. Others have reported that they could do that in Luna.Do you have to go to Palo's at embarkation to make the reservation?
Did you make the reservation at Palo's as soon as you boarded? We were able to get Palo for the first night once on board.
Thank youWe did. Others have reported that they could do that in Luna.
Well, it's certainly true on the Dream and Fantasy. So, it's not new to the Wish. There's no reason to leave the card in when you aren't there. It’s actually not true on the classic ships, but the intent is the same.
