How did DCL do the bookings for the Fantasy and Dream inaugural sailings.. Is it a lotto system or all about being a platinum member??

You asking about the first sailing open to the public or the first time the ship has passengers? because if it's the latter, that will be limited to special guests and media.

I had the same question regarding the first sailing open to the public. Does anyone recall if they accepted OBBs or if it had to be paid in full at time of booking?

We were on the second public sailing. The first was too much money and you could not get the 10% fare discount but you did get the $200 on board credit.

The inaugural public sailings will almost certainly be blackout dates for using prior OBB. I know with the Dream and Fantasy, it followed the customary booking pattern as opposed to a lottery. There was no PIF at booking requirement that I recall.

When do y’all think we will know more of the sailing dates? Should we expect above average prices?

They'll probably announce more about the actual dates late next year at the earliest. As mentioned, it will probably be doing the bread and butter runs out of PC. I would actually expect prices initially to be moderately higher because of the "new car" smell. That will of course drive prices a little higher in general.

we were on the Fantasy a couple months after the inaugural sailing and we enjoyed it......................but not any more than any of our other cruises.

I wouldn't put it past them for a huge inflation in pricing but I don't mind paying for a nice cruise like that either. This is how I'm gonna try to convince the DW for concierge lol

I thought the current rumors were that the Wish would take over the Fantasy’s 7 night itineraries and the Fantasy would take over the Dream’s 3 and 4 nighters as the Fantasy needs to be shifted to th shorter routes due to its propulsion system issues.

And that the Dream was likely going to start being rotated to the Wonder’s Alaskan routes.

I have literally never heard that rumor.

Maybe someone's Fantasy. It's not going to happen anytime soon.

Nope, not going to book inaugural sailing, Maybe same year, but I am not going on the ship while the crew gets used to the new space and the ships kinks being addressed. Remember the time the Magic's plumbing stopped working? Or the paint and varnish wasn't completed? Or that time when carpets were being placed down on the Fantasy after her dry dock?

One of the reason that your service is so good on Disney is that the crew knows their roles and are efficient. They'll be less so when they haven't cooked the new restaurants dishes for 4000 people 30 times. The stage show will only have been practiced so manytimes.

I get it. I am excited too. But not enough to deal with all the video bloggers, a ship with unknowns, and a crew training period. The ship will be in service for many years. I'll get there eventually. I'm not a person who will needs to flex on others by saying I was on a "first sailing".
