Disney Wish - Deluxe Family No Murphy Bed?

My family has a deluxe family Verandah cabin booked on the Wish. According to a spreadsheet I was looking at this room can hold a max of 4 people (we are only 4 so this is fine). Does this mean there is no Murphy bed in the room and if not would that space where the Murphy bed typically would be turn into extra storage space?

I would characterize it as losing space with the bed down. Then gaining space that could be used for storage. For example you usually lose the ability to go out on the deck if you have a veranda.

But will the area on the wall where the bed usually is stored be extra shelving? Or will it just be blank space? I was hoping with no Murphy bed in the wall they may have filled that area with more storage (especially with the lack of drawers). or will they just have a solid wall there?

I am not sure about the Wish, but on the Fantasy and the Dream, the cabins with the murphy beds are larger than the cabins without. So there is no 'empty space' where the murphy bed would go. The chair that you see in some photos is actually in front of the where the murphy bed pulls down from. With the 'sleep 4' cabins, the cabin wall is at the end of the couch. If you look on the deck plans (this is for the Fantasy/Dream) you can see that those cabins are larger. (The pink and the lime green). The cabins that sleep 5 (on the Dream/Fantasy) are 306 sq ft. OR 299 Sq ft. There ARE some cabins that sleep 4 with a veranda that are just 246 Sq ft. But I guess it depends on the category?

There are cabins on Dream/Fantasy that are ”family” (same size as the ones with Murphy but do not have the Murphy, just the extra space). Some of those larger rooms only sleep 4 (Example 8592 sleeps 5 with Murphy bed but 8594 has no Murphy and only sleeps 4, but they are the same size cabin). I Just have no recollection of how that extra space was set up and if the Wish is utilizing it the same way.

On the Fantasy we had a family cabin that slept 4 but there was no pull down bed from the ceiling. The 4th slept on the Murphy bed.

Not all of the larger “family” category staterooms will sleep 5 and have the Murphy bed. On the other ships, those that don’t will have a chair instead. I do not know if this carries to the Wish or not.

I was looking at the rooms on the Wish that sleep 5 and it says it has a trundle bed along with the couch bed, pull down from the ceiling and the queen bed. I'm not too sure what that means, but that's what it said. Hope I helped. :)

All furniture/storage remains the same in each unit. Think of it as 1000 pieces of furniture for 1000 rooms. They get delivered to the building dock and the supervisor tells the installers “make it work”. So some pieces get more squish and others fit in effortlessly. The design is made for the “just barely fits” rooms, and distributed to everything larger. The Murphy beds go into the rooms that have just enough space to fit that bed. So a Murphy bed in the front of the ship is not likely because room sizes are often smaller.

Remember your luggage fits under your bed where you should create one suitcase of pirate gear and another with beach gear not used at the deck pools. Consider a large hanging organizer to keep outside the bathroom and a smaller one inside the bathroom. Use packing cubes organized by items, like underwear, shorts and another for casual tops. Plan about 5-6 hangers offered per family of 4. Bring more if that’s not enough.

I am so not a fan of the pull-down. I like how on Royal the couch coverts to a double. I get kids maybe like it up there, but for adults or older teens no fun.. I tried it once and even under the weight limit, I never felt comfortable tossing and turning in it. I was nervous i would come crashing down on my kid. My son is light but too long. and my DD a bit heavy.

I wish there were other options for 4 people besides that pull down.

For anyone that may be interested in the answer I found it! Category 4C Deluxe Family Veranda will either have a wall cabinet with a pull down Murphy bed or no cabinet/Murphy bed and it’s replaced with a chair. The staterooms are the same size but some have the pull down and some do not.
This is a video of the room without the Murphy bed cabinet (but still family size) https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cf1uERwlp1L/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Thank you so much! I realized we booked a deluxe family veranda that only sleeps 4 (no Murphy bed) and was wondering about this too!

hi! First time cruiser & first time poster too 😁 I have a similar question but regarding deluxe family ocean view (no verandah). The website says our room sleeps 4 or 5. Could it possibly have a trundle?

There are no trundles.
For both the Deluxe Family Oceanview and the Deluxe Family Oceanview with Veranda, in the rooms without the murphy bed, the murphy bed is replaced with a chair.

Do you have the cabin number? I can try to see if it’s 4 or 5.
