Disney wireless vs Verizon International plan

On previous cruises to the Caribbean i've used the Verizon International plan. It is spotty with coverage but does allow me to stay somewhat connected to work. (I know some will say i need to be unplugged, however, my life the following week is much easier if i stay somewhat connected). The cost isn't great for the coverage.
I've only signed up for the Disney free data and used that sparingly. Should i consider their larger data package? Is it possible for there to be better coverage than the Verizon coverage? (I'm not tech savvy so if that is a dumb question... ). I think the cost will be in the ball park. If i do chose the disney package, what tips are there to conserve the data?

I like the Verizon plan as it's only $10/day when you use it. I only paid for 2 days when we did our last cruise. I've never used ships internet so have no experience there

The 100 MB package is $19, the 300 MB is $39, and the 1,000 is $89. The Disney connection is okay, not super fast, but I only use the free 50MB package to check email. The important thing to remember is to make sure and sign out after you are done. Otherwise, your data can disappear in a matter of minutes.

Does anyone know what Sprint's international plan covers? I think for free it covers some parts of maybe Mexico and the Bahamas (maybe?) but I'm not sure.

This really bugs me, too; people do not lead similar lives "on land" so judgment should be reserved.

I would definitely call Sprint and ask as different plans may have different parameters, and mistake could be costly!

I just found out for free it covers Canada, Mexico and the DR (darn, we could have used the latter two); but Bahamas it appears that there is free texting only. I guess I would turn off data to use only text. Then turn on WIFI to use free 50MB on ship. Hmm.. hope I get it right!

I found the Disney internet truly awful last year on the Fantasy Western Caribbean cruise. We had no internet at all in our cabin. It was slow elsewhere on the ship, and while the computer guy was very helpful and even credited us back the cost of our package, I was glad I had the Verizon data.
