We're doing a girls' getaway in March - the only resorts available that can accommodate our group are Wilderness lodge or POFQ. Have never stayed at Wilderness -- opinions as to if it's worth the price difference.

Thanks!

You don't say how much of a price difference it is, but I would expect it to be significant. These are two vastly different resort experiences. How is everybody's budget?

budget is not a problem for anyone traveling. also going to look at some of the other deluxe properties. looks like riviera is now available - odd it didn't pop up earlier.

What is the plan for the trip? Are you going hard core parks all day, every day or lounging by the pool with drinks, etc? If it were me, even IF budget were no problem (I wish!), if I was going hard core parks, I'd still do POFQ. Why pay extra money if you aren't going to use the more expensive resort??? Now, if we are lounging by the pool with cocktails, doing some fancy eating, etc - THEN I would pay the money for a deluxe experience.

We love both but I would say WL. The theming is amazing. You have the electrical water pageant at night and WCC is one of our favorite breakfasts we always have a meal there no matter where we are staying.

My vote is also for WL. I just love this resort. The boat ride to MK is relaxing. Beats taking the bus anytime. The resort and grounds are amazing. I've never been there during Christmastime, but it is on my bucket list,

Man these are my two favorite resorts so it's a tough call. It's really just how y'all plan to spend your time. WL is nice and close to Magic Kingdom. Geyser Point is awesome and you have easy access to the Monorail resorts. The pool gets super crowded though. If you are going to spend a lot of time in the parks I would hands down do POFQ. It's a small resort so walking to transportation and dining is super easy. It's a beautiful resort, with great quick service and bars. Only downside is not close to any parks and not a table service restaurant. Since we are park people it's always POFQ or Pop for us. We just never feel like we spend enough time at the resorts to justify Deluxe these days.

Wilderness Lodge is very nice. One of my favorites and I own at Boulder Ridge. That said, you mentioned Riviera is now available. Riviera is DVC only, so you will get a kitchen as well as a larger room and a living room area as well. Well worth considering.

I think Wilderness Lodge will be worth the money. Everything is just slightly to much better than POFQ, and I love both resorts.

POFQ and WL are my favorite resorts! You can't really go wrong with either. One has a boat to Disney Springs (POFQ) and one has a boat to MK (WL)

We used to stay at wilderness lodge all the time, but it has priced us out now. Very sad. If you can afford it, you will not regret it.

It all depends on what you want from the resort. If you want to sit on your balcony and relax, then it's WL. POFQ is a Mod and doesn't have balconies.

Is MK your favorite park? Then stay at WL. The transportation to MK from there is excellent.

Going to Disney Springs a few times during your trip? Then pick POFQ, since the boat ride from there to DS is great.

Since the price doesn't matter, the real question is What do you want? Do you want a Deluxe resort with a balcony in the room, a good view (assuming the view rooms are available for your stay), indoor corridors, and a somewhat larger room?

This isn't to say the rooms at POFQ aren't nice--they are.

If money weren't part of the equation for me, I'd stay at WL for sure, and I love POFQ. Just remember that the room rate isn't the only cost of your WDW trip. Tickets, G+, ILL$, food, etc., all are expensive now.

I'm guessing Riviera is even more expensive than WL. For me, I'd still pick WL. I much prefer it.

Good luck with your decision! It's a fun decision. And have a great trip.
