Disney while pregnant?

i am going in october, and will be 6 months i am hoping everything will go ok i have a 3 year old who can't wait to go!-HEATHER

I havent yet BUT am going to in Sept and will be 6 1/2 months pregnant.

A few weeks ago I posted this same question and everyone said that it should be fine. Take plenty of breaks, drink lots of water, wear comfortable shoes, and stay off roller coasters and spinning rides were the best advice I was given. It seems that we pregnant women can do more than we think we can in Disney so go and enjoy your vacation.

Good luck in your pregnancy!

Went when I was 6 mos. pregnant 19 years ago and felt better than everyone else at the end of the day. I didn't do any crazy rides, it was in March so it wasn't so hot, drank lots of water and lemonade. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Go and enjoy yourself, just listen to your body.

I have been to DW twice while pregnant. The above advice is great. I was 6 1/2 months pregnant last year with boy number three. I had a great time and really didn't miss out on much (mainly just the mountains in MK, ToT and RnRcoaster at the Studios, Test Track at Epcot, and Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl in AK). Whenever the rest of the family rode these, I looked around in the stores. Normally, I don't get to shop. I enjoyed the quiet time. The best advice from my doctor was to always know where the nearest restroom is and drink plenty of water.
Good Luck, you will have a wonderful time. We leave next week, and I was just telling my friend how weird it will be not being pregnant this time. You'll have an excuse to be pampered and eat all you want!!

I didn't go to WDW pregnant (because I've never been pregnant) but I can give you an article in brief in the Unofficial Guide written by a pregnant Unofficial Guide reader from Colorado.

Don't ride:

Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Space Mountain
Tomorrowland Speedway
Body Wars
Test Track
any other simulator rides
Mission: Space
Tower of Terror
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
Dinosaur
Primeval Whirl
Kali River Rapids
Any slides at water theme parks

Also, Mad Tea Party is safe if you don't spin the cups. Backlot Tour is questionable, (if it's open when you go). Yet, it's really tame compared to Earthquake! at Universal, which posed no harm to the reader.

Hope this helps!

I went 8 years ago PG app 5 months. I had a 5th and 3rd grader - it was a last hurrah( it was a definate pleasant SURPRISE blessing!) sorta!! And I had my copy of the Unofficial guide and I went comando style!! LoL dh had to throw yountest ds on his shoulders and say just watch your mom - I cant miss her purple legs daddy!! EEKS!! (I say its a good thing I dont have to look at them!! lol)

I usually have 10# babies, and checked with my doctor, who loved wdw... he said I would be fine!! And yes I asked, and was ok with riding Space Mt and Splash Mt... That was a long time ago, but I couldnt stay away...

I stayed on the monorail in case I had to go back to rest (never did) and did drink lots of water (it was june or july!) and just took all the Disney magic in... The boys bought a baby MM that we still have!!

Have FUN!!

I went last September at almost 8 months and had a total blast. Of course I checked with my doctor and took it easy.....and it was the most laid back relaxing Disney vacation I have ever taken. There is so much you will still be able to do. Now I am taking my little one (who will be 18 months when we go) before I even think about another so I can get my RNRC and TOT fix!! We are also going with friends whose little girl will be just a little older than ours so we can take turns watching the babies so we can ride with our spouse even....sorry I got off topic. Bottom line - it is definitley worth going....just take care of yourself!!

My sister-in-law was a few weeks pregnant with my niece when we went in 1993. So we always tease Mary that she's been to WDW 3 times, not the 2 times she remembers!

I went in my first trimester with our then 31/2 yo. I did fine. I was worried about morning sickness and fatigue but I felt the best I have ever felt. Much better than with DD in the first trimester. I was careful about rides but not overly and we rested but it was Nov so no heat to sap energy. You will do fine. Have fun!

I went in April 2000 when I was pg with my dd. (she was born in August) I also went in November 2002 when I was pg with my other dd. (she was born in May 2003)

Have fun. Enjoy it. There is so much that you can do. Make sure to drink lots of water.

DH was laughing at me because I think I know where every bathroom is at WDW.--this has come in handy now since our 3 year old is potty-trained & seems to have to go potty at the most inconvenient times...

I think we are going to skip it this year. You see, I have an almost 8 year old who is disabled so iu would have to carry her on and off the rides and it would be sooo much work... I'd be exhausted. DH can't make it due to work constraints but my mom would come. Only prob is that she can't lift DD up anymore because of poor wrists.
Oh well ... we are due to do the Eastbound Repo cruise in Aug 2005 so hopefully we can extend and do both parks there too!
