Disney weddings tonight-$70,000!!!!!!

After watching for 1/2 hour I had enough of that spoiled brat and had to turn it off. IMHO she seemed much more focused on making a broadway show than a wedding. I think she used the $70,000 to get her 15 minutes of fame and hoping it will lead to work. Didn't they say that she and her DH work on Broadway.

I think the vow renewal with real love was more beautiful.

:rotfl:

When her and her dad were riding in the carriage, her dad looked so smug. Maybe her fiance had the money. The only comment he made was that he wanted steak, and he also said his soon to be mother-in-laws house is like cinderella's castle.

Does anyone know when it will be repeated? I fell asleep part-way through. I must have been REALLY tired to fall asleep during a Disney show. What I saw though was impressive! I would have liked to get married there. We did honeymoon there atleast! :)

When my DH heard this coming on, he said, "can't you find something else?" I told him it was about Disney weddings and he put his glasses on to watch it with me. He was fascinated by it.

Personally, if I had the money to blow, I'd prefer to have a $70,000 wedding at WDW than to have a cookie cutter wedding in town. We went to one of the cookie cutter ones on Saturday night. It was elegant and lovely... actually, a lot of fun... but even then, to show off how much money that had to blow, they kept the bar open all night and still put bottles of wine on each table. They also made sure to have fried peppers, hot and sweet, on each table (an Italian thing.)

I wonder if the bride and groom paid for their guests to be at their wedding, too. How many people do you have to invite to get 120 to show up so far from home, even if it is WDW.

I was at a Disney wedding recently and it was fabulous. If you have the money and this is what you want for your dream day, then go for it! My weding was low key because that was what I could afford. I wish I had that kind of money to drop on just 1 day.

I also wish I would have seen the show, if it is going to be repeated let me know.

What channel was this on? I'd like to catch the repeat, too.

DH and I were fascinated by this one. Holy cow. But that bride's dress was about the silliest looking thing I've ever seen. I was like, "Honey, you left your other sleeve in your hotel room!"

Count me in another one who was irritated at what must have been an enormous waste of food. Same with the couple at the orange wedding...how much cake do you really need, people?

The costs of these weddings run up to about $300,000? I know that one girl's wedding was $70,000, which is bad enough, but what must a $300,000 wedding look like?

No offense to Disney , but if I had $300,000 to blow on a wedding, I'd have it at a real castle.

Thanks for posting the times of the repeat shows. I want to watch this....mainly to see the dress that you all are talking about. The picture I'm getting in my head is pretty funny!

I also thought there was a lot of food wasted, more so by the "orange" couple than the "spoiled brat." At least her food could be prepared for others....I hope!

Her dress was strange. IMHO, if you want the Cinderella wedding, you should have the Cinderella type dress.

I did get a kick out of the major-dommo! Both Dh and I thought that was pretty cool.

My Dh thought on all of this was that the $70,000 wedding was just $5000 less than the townhouse we bought 5 years ago.

I thought it was so fun to watch!

Yes, she was spoiled, I didn't see the "brat" part though.

If you've got the money to spend, go for it. It has no affect on me.

I thought it was great to see all the things they could do. The tea party was so fun. The possibilities really are endless at WDW.

$70,000.00 for a wedding?!

Holy tremendous waste of money batman!

I think that young lady was so pretentious and obviously very spoiled.

That amount of money could have been put to so much better use.
My DH and I said the same thing!! When she had the bridal tea..I thought the same thing..what a spoiled girl..I hope her husband can afford to keep her in the lifestyle she is accoustomed to!

when they said the "brat" opted for the "pick your own" meal, which was more expensive my DH said " of course she did"

The Orange wedding...when they showed each cake then that huge cake, I said the same thing "How much cake do you need!!"

I would have bought a AWESOME house with the 75k downpayment!

I thought the entire show was lovely.

As to her being a brat, sorry I just don't see it.

She seemed young and excited to have the wedding of her dreams. For everything they did and got while there I am surprised it did not cost more. Your average at the church, small wedding today averages about $25, 000. As to the dress, obviously it's what she wanted. The only thing I thought was over the top was having the 3 meat choices.

As to the cost her parents, his parents, her Grandparents might have given her this wedding. I have friends that could easily spend this much money on a wedding. They live in 2 million dollar homes so this would be nothing. I have a friend that is a bonds trader for Goldman Sachs that got a $500,000 bonus last year so yes she could afford this wedding. Is she spoiled, No, just was very smart in school and has a great job.

Just my opinion, but some of the negative comments seem like sour grapes to me and not the eating kind.

OK, maybe "brat" is a bit harsh. I also think it is great if they can afford that type of wedding, I sure hope we can do that for our kids, even if we do only have one daughter. I just don't want them to spend so much "extra" to allow for three meal choices. But then again, I am from a "family style" area, so thats what I kinda go for.

And that to me still sounds like too much. When I got married, it was a very simple affair and I put the extra money that we could have spent and bought property in Florida to build our house on.

Just a matter of priorities, I guess.

Sammie - I totally agree, well said.

Or a matter of having plenty of money to do both. A big wedding and a house.

I agree about the sleeve. It was like one of those half-man half-woman circus freak outfits that looks different from either side. What were they thinking?!?!?

When they said the carriage ride was at LEAST $2500, and a few characters cost $2000, my jaw literally dropped and my mouth was hanging open in amazement. Personally I would just go to a character breakfast and save a couple thou.

As to the person who said the extra meat would probably go to a homeless shelter, I doubt it because then they would have to pay for the meals, not just the "option that it may have to be cooked." I think the kitchen reuses the excess in other guests meals -- perhaps in those tastings where the wedding party gets to try everything out and decide their menu.

I didn't get the feeling this girl was a "brat," however -- just someone with excreble taste in clothes :) I thought the "Tea Party" reception was charming (and enough characters for one wedding, but to each their own!) She really seemed to understand you only do this once so make it a fantasy.

The couple was so young their parents must have been the ones to blow all that dough. I suppose they must have been able to afford to BUY them a castle, too!
