Has anyone done a disney vow renewal? I have looked on the disney website, and everything includes tickets and hotel. We are DVC members and have AP's, so we do not need that included? Can you make your own package? Any info or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There are several girls on here who have posted their vow renewals. I belive you still have to book it like a wedding. Not sure though...look at the Trip Reports of those who've already had their weddings, I've seen a few. Good luck!;)

We are also DVC members. You can use your DVC nights towards your required nights minimums. You just provide your confirmation number and it will verify how many nights you have reserved, same as if someone is paying cash for their reservation. It just confirms # of nights.

I'm not sure where you are looking on the site, but weddings and vow renewals do not include tickets or hotel accommodations. The Escape package requires you to book 4 nights at a Disney resort (you can stay at a DVC resort on points for that) but does not include it. The package also includes vouchers for Annual Passes, which you can save and activate when your current passes expire.

You cannot customize the Escape package, but if you choose to do a Wishes vow renewal, it will be completely customizable.

Is this the site you were looking at? Anything you see that says "wedding" applies to vow renewals too - the only difference is the license you show them.

I did a google search and typed in disney vow renewal. It may be out of date, because it did mention tickets to pleasure island. Can you schedule an appointment with someone to ask questions and plan? We will be there in January and that would be convenient to meet someone in person and see what they have to offer.

We are having a vow renewal at Disney in just a few weeks!! A vow renewal is just like a wedding in Disney's eyes, only difference is you are suppose to show them your marriage license which I have never been asked for. We are having a "Wishes" wedding because we have a lot of guests and wanted to customize everything. You can read all about it in my PJ:

Oh I for got to add that we are also DVC members and have annual passes. We let some of our guests use our points and we are staying at the Grand Floridian. We got the first night free and 40% off per night so it was a great deal and we also wanted to stay where the vow renewal is going to be. The annual passes can be activated anytime so you can use them when your current ones expire. Disney Wishes weddings include 1 free night, Escape weddings do not.

Does anyone know the price of a basic package? No frills, just DH and myself, no reception, etc.

That would be an Escape package and I believe the price is $4750 in 2010. That includes your ceremony site, flowers for you and the groom, cake and champagne toast, violinist, limo, photographer, and a website. This accommodates I believe 20 people. So even if it is just you and your DH it will still be the same price. I believe you can add more people and beverages.

The Wishes collection starts at $12,000.

We had a small VR
In 2005 and the package changed a little, but I might be able to amswer questions

I will say it was worth every penny
