I have a Disney Visa card - do I get any discounts in WDW by using it there?

TIA!

Poly 12/15 - 12/23 3 days to go!

I think there are discounts on behind the scenes tours, and there was a discount at the big Disney merchandise store at Dowtown disney. There also was a free character pic opportunity available at Epcot. The Disney Visa Website (Chase Bank) is very good at listing all the available perks. There hasn't been a resort discount in a while. Here's hoping!

Thank you! I checked it out and all of those discounts are still available. I'm excited about the meet n' greet @ Epcot.

We'll be at Poly from 12/14 - 12/18 and the meet n greet at EPCOT on 12/17 - maybe we will see you there! Have a great trip!

I think you also get 6 months free interest if you use it to book your trip.

does NOT require you to get the dining option. According to their brochure, WDW vacations require 1 one night stay and MYW base ticket only, no dining necessary, to qualify for interest free.

Be careful with the six months no interest.

I remember seeing posts that payments are applied to the package first then toward the rest of you balance.

Lets say you book a package for $2000 and have other purchases of $1000. You now have a $3000 balance. Now make a payment of $1500. That payment is applied first toward the package now giving you a balance of $500 on the package plus the $1000 on the other purchases which you are charged interest on.

Next month you charge another $1000 and make another $1500 payment. $500 goes toward the package and $1000 toward the rest of the balance leaving you paying interest on another $1000. Total interest in this 2 month persiod is probably about $30-$40.

That's not been my experience. I put a package on Disney Visa in Sept. 2005 for a trip in Nov. 2005. I pay my regular balance off every month and make multiple payments online. All my payments go towards my regular balance until I have paid my balance in full and then anything extra goes towards the package balance. :)

I would agree that hasn't been our experience either and we have been able to take advantage of 2 or 3 interest free deals. One thing to note is that if you receive a credit (return or something) during the month and then pay the full amount of your statement less the 6 mo free amount the credit balance then was applied to our 6 month free balance.

The may have changed there process then. I remember seeing posts when the Disney Visa originally came out that this is what some people were experiencing. If I am wrong I apologize for the incorrect information.

I just booked 7 nights at POR with tix & dining package through my AAA agent. I paid the $200 deposit on my United Visa, I have the Disney Visa (from last time 04) and was wondering, can I put the final payment due 45 days before my trip on my Disney card and get the 6 months no interest?
:confused3

Thanks, YO

I highly doubt it. If you were paying Disney the answer would probably be different, but you are in fact paying AAA. Since you could be booking anything with AAA, your card would be charged the interest as if it was a standard purchase.

shafke, I believe it did happen to a number of people but they were able to have it corrected. It was a mistake they occasionally made and still occasionally make so if you do the package financing just carefully check your statements to make sure the payments are being applied correctly.
