Disney Visa

Online it says that you get 2% back on groceries with the premier card. We do most of our grocery shopping at Walmart. Will that count for the 2% or is Walmart considered just a retail store?

I have had one for years. In fact my card says Day 1 on it. I use it all the time and it's always nice to have the points for WDW visits. Unless you are in a hurry to get it, you might want to wait for a deal--get extra points or a gift card for your application or something like that. I believe we got a gift card when we got ours years ago.

I have used my disney visa for everything possible since 2012. We had 609 dollars for the last trip and ate for days for free! However, I applied for the new jetblue card and have switched all spending to that card for now to try to get free flights. I pay balances in full each month. I will keep the disney card for the 10 percent discount at the disney store. Might get the new costco card, bank the 4% cash back from gas, and take that money to the parks in 2018. Disney is not keeping up on the rewards front.

We have a Disney Premier VISA ($49 per year), and put everything on it that earns 2%: "Earn an additional 1% in reward dollars on card purchases at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants and most Disney locations for a total of 2% in these categories".

You can compare this and the regular Disney VISA here: https://disneyrewards.com/compare-cards/?CELL=6CZD11

We also pay our DVC annual dues on this card, earning a bunch of points at once. We go on every WDW trip with easily hundreds of dollars in rewards based on our spending.

We put most other purchases (including our flights) on a JetBlue MasterCard... and we always fly JB to WDW! :)

I also got the premier card and use it solely for the items that get 2% rewards and we pay it off each month. When I signed up there was some sort of deal - $100 cash rebate or something, so I looked at that as the first 2 years being fee free.

We had enough rewarda to pay for a character meal and some snacks on our first trip with it, and we have $75 so far towards out next trip. Since that's at least 6 months away, I imagine we'll have double that when we go.

I'm not a super couponer/deal watcher, so I can't keep track of which cards have the best deals, etc. This is easy and works for us to get a little something extra. I'd never "save" the rewards I got other places for a Disney trip - these force me to save them for Disney. :)

I use it pay it off in full each month, but I always use it for the FREE FINANCING for 6 months on MYW Packages. That's a great deal and makes the card worth it for me.

People are correct that there are other cards out there that will give you more back on average, but for a Disney fanatic it can be useful. I have the premier card which gives me 2% back on food, gas, and Disney purchases. I use it solely to purchase those items, and I mean ALL those items. Every trip to the grocery store. Every gas fill up. And yes, I pay my cards off religiously every month. Currently I'm earning about $30 per month. Since we usually visit every two years or so, I can generally pay off our tickets with what we earned on the card. Since I have another card that gets me airline points (which I use for all other purchases), I can go to Disney almost entirely on points.

I have the regular card and I have had it since it was introduced. I don't use it often. It is my emergency only card but I usually have enough "emergencies" between trips that I have around 150 to 200 to use. My first trip I had 450 bucks to use and it was great to have it.

I have had the regular Disney VISA since it was first offered; another "Day 1" member here! I use it for everything and the rewards mount up. We go to Disney every 2 years, so I usually have $700-$1000 saved up, depending on what's been happening in our lives. I KNOW that there are other cards with better rewards, but if I was getting cash back every month, we'd use it for something else; I'd probably leave it on the card to offset the next billing cycle. We don't have a vacation account or anything, so having the Disney VISA is like having a built-in DISNEY vacation account; all that $$$ saved up, :earsgirl: ear-marked :earsgirl: for Disney, guarantees that DH will agree to another Disney trip!
