Hello!
We are about to apply for our Disney Visa card and I was wondering if other members were able to receive the free dining promo easier because of being Disney Visa member?
We are planning a late January trip and hoping for a free dining promo again (i know i know i shouldn't hope or book early but i have to get my dining ressies!)

I am hoping have the Disney Visa will make those few days after the promo is released easier.
Thanks for any info you have!

btw sorry if this is in the wrong forum, didn't know where to put it! :-)

Visa card holders have, in the past, gotten the discount a day or two before everyone else. Puts you in the front of the line, but still no guarantee that the resort/room/dates you want will be included.

They occasionally send us all kinds of specials through out the year for being card holders. Sometimes they are sales on the rooms, some times they are the dining packages. It just depends. The best part about the signing up perks were the Disney Gift Cards! You have to ask for that promo. They had been doing $50 for the first $500 spent on the free card, and I got $200 gift card for signing up for my own premium card! (which gives you double rewards but costs $49 per year, but with the $200 gift card value and the double rewards, totally worth it.)

Those were the biggest perks for me. I love my cards, we have two accounts, free and premium. We love our Chase photos, they are so fun! We always take a group visiting and get them printed.

We use our rewards for food and drinks in the parks now that we go so much. Its definitely a benefit. I managed to scrounge up $11 left between both of my rewards cards, enough for my food and beverage the whole day I was there! :D (I was cheap.)

But you never know for sure when they are going to put out the deals, they just send them to you. We also get some for savings or VIP for the broadway shows like Aladdin etc. sometimes even things like golf or chef shows. I have always had great service with my Chase card and its super easy to manage online, and they are great dealing with fraud concerns as well. You will enjoy having it.

In 2013 we got early access to heavily discounted dining. About 2-3 days ahead of everyone else. The cost was $100 per person for our entire stay. But there's no guarantee moving forward. Our travel agent was able to alert us even before that and she booked it for us.

The past 3 trips, we've benefited from having the Disney Visa by obtaining discounts before the general public. However, the current dining offer that was just released did not go to DV people first. It didn't impact me since we already booked for summer dates with a room discount. My sister had been waiting for Sept/Oct discounts and since I'm her unofficial Disney travel agent, I told her I'd find out first and let her know. Not the case this time. I only found out the day it went live thru this board. So I'd say most of the time you would have an advantage.

In the past, yes, but the most recent free dining offer was not released to Visa holders first. There are many benefits to the DV. Early access is sometimes available, and sometimes not. Enjoy your DV! Just be sure to pay it in full each month, or before any interest is accrued. The rewards are not worth the interest rate. Lol

Like PP - in the past it did allow you to book early but not this year. It all depends but there are other perks too. The accumulated points are nice to put on a gift card before your trip. We use it to pay for tips and souvenirs since we are on FD. I know there are other cards that have a higher rate of rewards so it isn't the best card out there in regards to % "back" but I still love my DV card. Years and years ago - when we first signed up for it - we had an exclusive DV free dining promo that we were able to combine with a WDW hotel discount - but I believe those days are long gone...

I know this year for Disneyland I got a better deal as a Visa card holder then the general public but we cancelled and are going to WDW instead. We upgraded to the premier card and save a lot more!

You were able to get the $200 gift card promotion on a Premium card even tho you already had a regular card? The Premium card had to be a new card, not just an upgrade I assume? I have that referral code but didn't think I could use it myself!
