I don't want to get to personal but I wanted to know if you were happy with your Disney Visa. I am thinking about getting one but I was just wondering about the rewards. Any info would be helpful... Thanks

The rewards are nice but it's only 1%. We have had one since they came out but accumulating points seems to take forever. We did a major renovation on our house and we tried to use the Disney Visa as much as possible. I think we went to Disney last year with close to 400 reward points/dollars. If we had used a Discover card it would have been almost 5 times that. We just wouldn't had been able to use the Discover rewards at Disney. Good luck and whatever you do don't be late with a payment, they will increase your interst rate quite rapidly if you carry a balance.

Talk about your scalliwags!

We put everything on it and earn about 12-20 dollars a month. Last September for our trip I had around 650 reward dollars to use. When we go back in 2009 I am hoping for around the same. The only think I noticed is that they seem to have higher interest rates but that doesn't affect us much because we pay it off each month.

If you pay your card off every month its a good deal. Otherwise there are better credit rates.

We used the Disney visa code to save $484 for our Oct trip this year. The value with the Disney Visa is if you pay your credit card in full each month.

I always treat my credit card's as a one month loan. Always pay them off when the bill comes and never carry a balance. Just use it when I want to make an unexpected purchase and don't have enough cash on hand. You do get some special little perks. I just got a free one year subscription to the Disney magazine that they have in the rooms at the resorts. When I purchased my DVC membership, I put my $10,000 down payment on my Disney rewards card. That earned me alot of points, and then I payed that balance off the next month. You really don't want to carry a balance on any charge card. It's just like flushing money down the toilet, IMO.

i have the card my parents do as well. when i signed up i got a free $25 gift card to use within 3 yrs at wdw and my parents got a really nice mickey watch. I use my card for "emergency" reasons only if i dont have a high enough balance in my debit (recent college grad lol) my parents only really use it by mistake if they grab it to pay or if they know they are going to WDW to try and rack up the points. I used it at WDW for the World of Disney discount and i did the Dolphins in Depth tour and saved 30 bucks.

my uncles family on the other hand uses theirs for EVERYTHING and the last trip they took in 2005 pretty much the whole trip was paid for w/extra money so for them it was worth it but my parents tend to use other cards such as ones to get Delta points or Marriott points, they try and look ahead after each summer to see what they would be using for the next summer.

We are happy with ours, Although I use it as a second card. I have a citi card that sends a rebate check it gets me 3-5% depending on what I use it for. Has a $350 cap. When I hit the $350 mark, I use the disney card.

The reward $$, the NO interest on your Disney vacation.... I LOVE my Disney VISA! No to mention when DD was hospitalized for over 6 weeks, just over a year ago, they reduced our interest rate quite low to help us out.

The Disney Visa is great! The different card designs are so cute, and you can get some great discounts with the card. For instance, you can receive 20% off theme parks tours. Keys to the Kingdom at Magic Kingdom is normally $60 per person, but I only had to pay $43 for my ticket! It is a good idea to have a Disney Visa if you travel to Disney alot. You also get 10% off at World of Disney downtown. Just think, that could be an extra trading pin! (Kidding :)

I don't use it much except to have one bill charged to it every month which
insures that I keep getting some rewards points. It took quite awhile, but
on our last trip we were able to take along a Rewards Card worth $200! It
paid for all of our extras and some! :thumbsup2

Hi Folks,

Thought I'd throw a question into this thread, rather than start a new one...

We have a Rewards card with $60 or so on it... it says it expires 12/07. Does this mean it expires on Dec 1 or do we have all of December to use it?

Thanks!!

I would take 12/07 as the end of the month.
Almost always its last dat of a month

All purchases at Disney, Disneyshopping.com, etc are 0% for 6 months so I use my card only for Disney purchases. The interest rate is just to high compared to 6.99 on my main card. Also, for big things we use DH amex to get sky miles.

I do have about 100 rewards on my Disney Visa but that is after two years. I also got $40 off my first purchase.

I will use the card if we take the extend offer for our DVC but that is about it.

Thanks! We've got one last trip this year (12/19-12/24) and we keep forgetting to bring that card with ;) Good to know we should have time to use it...
