Disney Visa - rewards

Does anyone know how long it takes to receive your Disney rewards card when "cashing in" points? I'm going on May 22 and wanted to charge for another month, but I don't want to risk the card not arriving in time. I pay my bill in full each month - does the cycle have to close (and be paid) before you can request the points? My cycle is on the 22nd, so I guess I think that anything I charge after 4/22 wouldn't be available to me on this trip. Can someone explain this to me?

I don't know how long it takes because I ordered mine on line about a month ago and called last week to check on it because it hadn't arrived - she had no record of the request, so said she'd send one out to me.

FYI - when I ordered my first card last year, I only put the required $20 on it. Once you move $$ over to the reward card it carries an expiration date of about one year (not the 5 or so years you have if you leave it in your account). Just in case something happens to my trip I like risking only the $20 - then I call the 800# and have the rest moved over to the card once I'm there - it's transferred immediately. Actually, I had a large reward balance and only moved over what I had spent the night before check-out.

I was able to use the rewards listed on my current statement before I had actually paid the bill (we went mid-month - billing period ends on the 4th for us and is not due until the 30th)- that surprised me, but it was a nice surprise!

Long story short, I would order my card with $20 now (I already ordered mine for June) and transfer the rest once I reached the world.

If I remember, it took about 7-10 days to get our card. The person who has the account has to call and get them, no one else. I tried (DW) and the DH had to do it! I'm the CFO! Oh, well. Hope you have a great trip!

We got ours a couple of days ago - it took less than a week.

The reward dollars are credited to your account once it closes for the month, you do not have to have paid the bill. Order the card now, and after the 22nd you can transfer those points. While you are there you could transfer the May 22 points too!

It only takes a week or so... you should call and order your card now... once you have the card, all you have to do is call them, and they add any points that you've accrued... this only takes a few seconds.
We've done this several times, always with good results. Charge away, and enjoy the benefit!

Just remember once you transfer your rewards to the reward card they expire when the card does. We havent lost any rewards but I have read about lots who have.

I picked up my rewards card at Guest Relations at Downtown Disney. There's an 800# to call from there to have the rewards dollars transferred to your card. Once you have your rewards card, you can also transfer the dollars online - which I did last night.
