Disney Visa Rewards

Oh and also you'd be amazed at how many things in WDW get a Disney Visa card holder discount. Most times up to 15%. Plus a Disney Visa room code came out about a month ago that saved me almost $400.00 on my next trip.

Hi ... we got the Visa when we decided to go to WDW about a year ago ... we have over $150 in Disney Rewards which will be put to good use:) One good thing is the discount we received on our vacation ... Disney Visa ran a promotion last month where I saved more than my already booked AAA discount. Needless to say we cancelled our AAA reservations and went with the Disney Visa Card which was a $250 savings over AAA!

You earn 1 point for every $100 you spend. That one point is used dollar for dollar at select locations. I would make sure to check their site to see where you can use them since it's not anywhere on Disney property. QUOTE]

Actually you can use it at 99% of the places on Disney property. I use mine for all food, snacks and souveniers while there. The only places that dont take the reward dollars (which is a credit card blanace thingy) is the smaller snack stands.

I have almost $1,000 in Reward Dollars, and I took advantage of the Visa discount offered a few weeks ago to save over $430.

Instead of costing around $3,000, our DW vacation will end up costing me around $1,500. That's half-price!

SWEET!!

We love our Disney visa and have had it for a few years, and went on our disney vacation a few weeks ago and we had $445 to spend! YAY..so I am all for it. I use it for everything - bills, groceries..etc, things that I have to spend money on anyways...but I make sure I pay them off each month.

I totally agree..... (there is a Disney Visa thread too ...case you aren't aware). /COLOR]

I've been trying to find the thread, but can't remember where I saw it. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

OP- I got one just for booking this trip, and so far, so good. I don't use it often, so I haven't accumulated a lot of DRDs (I have another card that does cash back, and, as much as I love Disney, the cashback is better for me) but, I signed up online while I was booking tix for MVMCP and got an automatic $40 credit for signing up. It basically made my MVMCP tix buy one get one free. I'd say, go for it, but, like any other card, just remember to pay it off so you don't get hit w/ the fees, etc.

Okay...so it was late when i posted that....we are ON the reward thread.....guess i thought it said something different :headache: Sorry, my bad :duck:

Here's the list of places on WDW property that you can use it. While there are a vast majority that do them, there are a few big ones missing, like 50s PTC and Tusker House off the top of my head. Just check the list before planning to use it anywhere.

Everyone here seems to be so knowledgeable about the Disney Visa so I have a couple of questions. I've searched this and haven't found the exact info I'm looking for. My DH and I are discussing the card for obvious reasons and would like to know:
1. Do the reward dollars ever expire if you don't put them on the rewards dollar card thingy? I know you have to request that bonus card, but if you don't, do the rewards keep adding up for years and years?
2. Can you use the Disney Visa card and recieve reward dollars if you book your vacation package through a TA/AAA? or do you have to book it over the phone/online yourself with Disney? The credit card we now use always says WDW Resort is who made the charge to the card, the payment is to WDW not AAA.
3. Is it true that when you request your rewards dollar card that it expires Dec 31 of the following year? If someone were to get a rewards card today would it expire on 12-31-08?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, we want to get some Disney bang for our bucks that's for sure :thanks:

Ive heard you can redeem your points at DTD so you don't have to wait for a card to come in the mail? Anyone have any information regarding this

They expire in five years if you don't put them on the card

The credit card we now use always says WDW Resort is who made the charge to the card, the payment is to WDW not AAA.I recently booked a WDW trip with AAA using my disney visa- they automatically put the 0% financing on it, If for some reason it didn't do it you could call disney visa

Hope this helps!!:)

I'm pretty sure you can- I know that if you lose your card you can go to DTD or at the guest services in MK

Just did this last month - didn't get a rewards card before we left, because I was concerned that the time was too short. Went to guest relations in DTD, they took my card, looked it up, gave me an envelope with a rewards (or Disney dollars, whatever they call it) card and information, and pointed me to a phone by the desk to call to activate the card - no more than 5 minutes, not a big deal at all.

I know this question has been posted a hundred times, can i use my rewards anywhere? I have 366 dollars worth.

thank you!

Do you mean everwhere at WDW or DL- If you do then Yes pretty much everywhere that has a card scanner thingy. I think the only place you can't is at the small snack stands. If No then you can use them at the Disney store, online shopping at Disney, I think even for Disney on ice tickets- but not positive on that one. Broadway shows- lion king, little mermaid, mary poppins- of course those are only in NY. There is a list on the chase website.

Oh and also you'd be amazed at how many things in WDW get a Disney Visa card holder discount. Most times up to 15%. Plus a Disney Visa room code came out about a month ago that saved me almost $400.00 on my next trip.

Is there a booklet available that lists what/where you can get these discounts at WDW with your Disney Visa? If so, would I just call Disney Rewards and ask for a copy?

I think those last few words are key here. If you don't pay it off each month, you can actually wind up paying a whole lot more than any benefit you receive from having the Disney Rewards Visa depending on your balance that carries over from month to month. :thumbsup2

Now I'm a little confused. When you are referring to "it" do you mean the Disney Visa card or the Disney Rewards card?

Someone asked about discounts on rooms and such. I believe the codes are available on the Visa website. They don't give the % of discount though.
