I wasn't referring to tip tolerance. Unfortunately, I think I had a server who decided to tip themselves a little more with my card. I only use the card now for purchases that have no gratuity line on the receipt. There is no way to dispute the over-redemption of points, so I don't risk it any longer.

That's terrible.

To all, sorry for the confusion I meant to add @Moliphino reply regarding Tip Tolerance.

Sometimes places where tipping is the norm put a temporary hold for more than the check amount at first, in expectation that a tip will be added. So some of the funds on the card may be held up until that temporary hold clears and the final amount is deducted.
I've never had an issue with more being deducted than should have been.
