Disney Visa rewards question.

We are heading to WDW in Oct. We have about $300 in Disney dollars on our Disney Visa account, and will probably earn another $50 or so before we depart. I am wondering, what is the best way to handle this, so that we have the rewards card in time for the trip, with the maximum amount of rewards on it?

Can we request the rewards card now, with the $300 or so in Disney dollars on it? Then, right before we leave, can we call and have any new Disney Dollars transferred to it? Or, do you have to request a new rewards card each time?

What works best?

Thanks,
Andy

to allow for delivery time. Put your current $300 on it and then you can just transfer the additional $50 right before you go (the same card) - I add to my card all the time via the website - easier than calling. :flower:

Okay, so I call the first time to request the rewards, and then I can transfer instantly via the website after that? I won't have to worry about my rewards expiring this year, right?

Thanks,
Andy

Dec of the year after you request it. So, in your case, the card will expire in December 2006. In my case, I requested the card in 2004 - it expires December 2005. When you call to request it, verify the expiration date with the Card representative just in case they have changed things since when I requested mine. Enjoy your trip - I'll also be there in late Sept/early Oct.

Thanks, I'll call today.

Yep, we'll be there the first week in Oct. Have a good time on your trip.

I didn't even call to request my first one, I just did that online as well. It was quick and easy!

We are going to WDW in October with a bunch of family, I wanted to order WDW resort gift cards for the kids so they had their own money to spend in gift shops. Can I order them in advance to give at a birthday party? :earboy2:

Note that you have to have at least $10 to transfer, so as you're getting closer to your trip, you might want to leave it until right before you go so you can get all of the rewards onto your card. YOu can transfer any amount OVER $10. And it's instant, so you can transfer it even the morning that you leave. I just transfered some for a trip next week, and I have $94. Woo-hoo!

I went to guest services in DTD my first night, and they provided me with a phone and phone number to have the additional put on. By that evening, it was there and useable.
