Disney Visa Rewards Question

Can I use my Disney Visa Rewards to pay for an upcoming trip??

When do I put those credits towards the trip?

How long does it take to get a card when I order my D. Rewards?

I've just ordered one for our upcoming trip and was told it takes about 2 weeks to receive. I suppose if the resort will take a debit card you can pay for it with that. I'm sure a travel agent would. Wow! I only had enough on mine to pay for all the food and goodies.

What if I have a package already and I do not need to pay for the hotel at the resort? It will all be taken care of before we get there.

Of course, we will only have a portion of our trip covered by rewards.

I used my rewards card at downtown disney at world of disney, i'm not sure what other stores there take it.

I was told the restaurants take the Disney Visa as well as the hotels. I've already paid for the trip but am planning on using the Disney Visa debit card for all meals. Has anyone heard differently?

The Disney Rewards Card works absolutely EVERYWHERE we have tried at WDW. Even the LEGO store at DTD took it with no problem. It is a great advantage for us!

We ordered our reward card last week. The website said to allow 4-6 weeks but I recieved it already!! Once you have your rewards card you can also add to it at WDW. If you accumulate more points btw now & your trip you can just have them added on to your reward card.

Your Disney Rewards can be used to pay for deposit, or final payment. (along with being used in the World)

I recommend calling Disney Visa and request the card because it does take a couple of weeks. The card will arrive in a blank looking envelope so don't throw it away. As long as you have the actual rewards card in your possession you can keep accruing points and call Visa rewards and ask them to apply to the points to the card you have. They will do this electronically so you won't have to wait the couple of weeks for a new card. (Do not throw the card away when you use it up because new purchase points can be added)

If you have not yet made final payment contact your travel agent (or wherever you booked through) and give them the rewards # along with the amount for them to charge on it.

ex. if your balance is $1,000 and your rewards card has $200, tell them to use the $200 in rewards and the disney visa credit card for the remaining $800. Then you will have earned points on the $800 plus whatever else is charged so you can then have it electronically added to your rewards card to bring to Disney with you. Can be used for tips, purchases, etc.

we are planning to use ours at the hotel when we check out to buffer all those nasty room charges we always seem to rack up throughout the week. Charging to the room always seems like a good idea until we get to check out and it's like, $700 for some drinks we had by the pool! Anyway, I know the hotels take 'em...Chase also told me that the 5x rewards dollars (April-June promo for airline, gas and groceries that you had to be preregistered for but it's not too late) take about 6-8 weeks to show up on your account. Becareful... alot of times they have a max. amount you can accrue each month. We were not aware of this, and charged EVERYTHING only to find out after the fact that we only got 50 points for the month, when we had accrued over 150. We do pay it off everymonth but had i known i would have used our other credit card which gives us cash back 5% groceries & gas, 1% on everything else.

I think the PP was referring to the 5x extra reward that many cardholders got postcards for. You were given a pin # and had to sign up for the special. It was above and beyond the yearly accrual amount but you had to read the VERY fine print to see how much your total extra rewards could add up to. When they finally credit your account with the extra rewards it is separated out from your normal monthly reward amount.

When I called the WDW dine phone I was told I could use my rewards debit card at any Disney owned restaurant but that they were not all Disney owned. I do know you can charge most everywhere back to your room. At least all restaurants. So, if I charge everything back to my room then is it true I can then pay the hotel with my reward debit card? Remember, my room is already paid for. This will work great if that is correct. We've built up enough to be able to pay for all of our food but I was getting concerned we wouldn't be able to use it everywhere. Yippee!!!!

Can I order the card with only 5 points, or do I have to wait until I have at least 20? I plan to pay off my trip with this Visa and by the time of our trip to WDW in Sept. I am sure I will have over 20. Not a lot, but anything is better than nothing.

You have to have minimum of 20 points to request a card and after that you need a minimum of 10 to transfer to the reward card.

No, this was something they were running from Jan 30- March 30, 2008.
We usually dont use this disney visa much because our regular credit card give us 5% groceries & gas back, and 1% everything else with no maximinum amount. i think they run a bunch of different specials at different times for different cardholders from the looks of some of the threads listed in the past year or so here on the boards. So be sure to read the fine print.

We stayed on DVC points so our room was also "paid" for. We had about $900 on our Disney Rewards card. I gave it to them at check in and they charged the Dining Plan on it and then they credited the remaining amount to our room. We charged everything to the room (tips, souvenirs, etc) and it was "billed" to the Rewards card. Once we ran out of Rewards dollars, they just charged our Visa which was listed as the #2 payment method. I was even able to add more Rewards dollars to the card over the phone, since I hadn't put ALL of them on the card. I couldn't believe we would go through $900 of dining plan and other stuff so I held about $100 back. Well, we ended up needing only a few of them so now I still have $60 on the card. No biggie, since we're going again in October. They WILL get used!
