Disney VISA reward points

Are the points/dollars available immediately?
Or does it take a while to show up on your statement?
We will be in WDW in October and thought if I pay for the
room in advance that would get me a few extra dollars.
But if it takes a while to show up I might as well pay
when we check out....

The points are available when your statement closes. Let's say you charge the room this month and your statement closes on August 28. The points will be on that statement and you can view them online a day or two after the statement close date.

You have to transfer the points to a Disney Rewards card (basically a gift card) in order to use them, and you must have at least 20 points to order a card. After the initial card is ordered, you can transfer points on the internet or over the phone, but it must be a minimum of 10 points. If you don't have enough points to do this and get the card in the mail in time before your trip, you can request a card at guest services in the MK and somewhere in Downtown Disney. I can't remember the location, but I know you can find the info on Chase's website.

How do I know when it closes for each month? Is that the same as
payment due date?
As example...on the statment I just received...
Payment due date 8/13/08.
It shows Opening/Closing date for this statement as 6/20/08-7/19/08

Does this mean next months closing date will be Sept 19?
In otherwords is it always the same date each month?
I know some of my bills run more on a 28 day month then an actual date
in each month.

I hope this makes sense????

Payment due date and the statement close date are different. Your last statement closed on 7/18/08. The close date is usually the same each month, or within a day or two. So you should have a statement close on or around 8/18 and 9/18.
