I have around 80 points on my Disney Rewards card. I would like to use them at Taste Pilots in DCA which is on the list of places I can use them.

My question is...when I pay for our meal, are the 80 points just like cash? If my meal comes to $72.00 will I have to pay anything out of pocket?

Where did you find a "list of places" where you can use the points? My wife just cashed in her Disney Visa points and loaded up a couple hundred dollars on a Disney Rewards card, which we plan on using up on dining in the parks. I have learned here on the boards that any Disney merchant that isn't "cash-only" (like the outdoor vending carts) will take the Disney Rewards card as payment.

And yes, when you convert your Disney Visa points to dollars on a rewards card, those dollars are just like cash. If your meal comes to $72, and you have $80 loaded on your rewards card, then after they swipe your rewards card and deduct the $72, you'll have $8 remaining on the card. You can then go somewhere and buy something for $10, using the remaining $8 on your rewards card plus another $2 from another source (cash, credit card) to pay for it.

CardinalsFan...When you log into your Disney Visa account online...go to the "Rewards" section and there should be instructions of how to either download a brochure (PDF) or view the brochure online.

By the way, CardinalsFan...thank you for answering my question. That's great news!

I know there are fancier places to dine at DL & DCA, but from looking at the menus of the restaraunts offered using Disney Rewards...Taste Pilots fits our needs/tastes the best.

I think that you need to get a card first, you can not just go in and pay with points, you have to have them downloaded to a card you order...

Thanks, Master Mason...I've already done that...it's a pretty blue card with Mickey's finger pointing to the castle.

I ate at the Test Pilot's Grill last weekend and the ribs were sooooooo good!!! They were the first ribs I've had in 7 years!

Sorry I'm of no help, but it looks like the others covered it. I guess I'm still excited from my trip.:upsidedow

Thank you! I was hoping someone would pop in and critique the ribs. With 8 people aged 5 thru 55, I need to pick some place that has a variety of regular food...nothing fancy. My family would be  if I tried to get them to eat a Monte Cristo. :rotfl2:

Taste Pilot has Chicken Strips, Burgers and Ribs which is right up our alley. :thumbsup2

You can use this card anywhere in the park that accepts cards (like Visa). For every point you have you have $1 to use.

I just checked our points accumulation this morning and we have $315:cool1:

I am so excited for our Dec trip.

$315 would excite me too...:lmao:

I was so mad at myself when I started researching the Disney Rewards program. We used our Disney Visa for most of our trip to WDW in 2005, so I'm sure we probably had between $300 & $500 of Rewards points, but...dummy me...I didn't know anything about the program and didn't use them. (I guess you use them or lose them by a certain date.) :sad1:

I did the same thing with my Alaska Airlines Visa....I had no idea that I got a $50 companion fare every year...so paid full price when we went to WDW and this past March when I purchased our tickets to DL. :sad2:

Boy...can you say "dummy"? :rotfl2:

I think you would have been able to use your Disney Visa rewards points to load up a rewards card with $$$ and spend them in a Disney store (maybe even at DisneyShopping.com). Too bad you didn't know about the perks - I hate overpaying for something, and I really hate missing out on something for free!

For our trip this December, I know I've got the lowest possible airfare (even though we have to fly into the Ontario airport to get it), and I'm paying the lowest possible rate at the HoJo, and I got the lowest possible price for our 4-day parkhoppers (through the convention site for Gay Days), and we'll (hopefully) pay for a majority of our meals using the Disney Visa rewards points. Now if I can just get Priceline to accept my bid of $17/day for a full-size car! :goodvibes

We have about $41 for this trip next week. Not a lot, I try not to use credit cards, even if I promise to pay them off in full every month! hehe

But I plan on using ours, probably at the World of Disney store like I did last year. I like blowing it on shopping! LOL
