My DH and I have accumulated 100 Disney Reward Dollars! (We charge literally everything and use the credit card like we used our debit cards before)
When we received them, the information enclosed stated:
"Disney Dollars may be used for the partial payment of a purchase. You can redeem 20 reward dollars towards a 50 dollar item and pay the remainder with cash or a credit card."

Why do you suppose we are not able to use them for one purchase? Has anyone used reward dollars for dinners at WDW all at once? I was looking forward to having a decadent dinner "on Disney"

Also, FYI, anyone who is about to request that their dollars be sent, be aware that Visa will only send them in 10 dollar increments. I had earned 59 reward dollars, but was able to only receive 50. Also, Disney Visa only updates your reward dollar balance once a month, on your statements closing date.:D

I interpreted that as an example, and thought they wanted to emphasize that you cannot get cash back for them. I didn't think it meant that you couldn't use them all at once. We're going in a couple of weeks, and I have $50 worth of certificates, so I guess I'll find out.

I thought it was great that I could order the rewards on my statement closing date , before I had even paid the balance.

I had $40 worth and used them all at once.

How long did it take to receive your Disney dollars once you requested them? We are going at the end of Sept. and I want to get as many as I can. When did you request them before your trip? Thanks for your help!

I'm going to move this to the Community Board for you.

Both times that I've ordered Disney rewards, they have arrived in less than a week. When you order them, they give you a date by which you should receive the certificates.

By the time our June vacation arrived, we had only accumulated enough points for $20 worth. I applied them towards my room charges at Old Key West a few days before we checked out of the resort. That way I didn't have to worry about not being able to get the full amount of the certificate (since they won't give you change).

I just received $50 in reward cards, 2 $20 and 1 $10 and, they arrived in less than a week.

And, I have used a $10 card towards a $17 purchase (in store)but, maybe the 'puters just haven't caught up with the requirements yet? i.e. $50 purchase. I also used a $10 card towards an over $50 purchase, online and, it worked. But, you can only enter ONE card, whatever denomination, online so, be forewarned about that.

I truly hope the $20 off on $50 purchase is just an example of not getting cash back because otherwise, these cards will not be any great reward! And, with a $10 card, what would be the minimum purchase? $50 also? See, not so great. :(

this is another reason we couldnt get on the Magic Nov 30th! lol I just wasnt really ready

By the time we step onboard the ship in Nov we'll have about $100 to spend on drinks that wont be coming out of our pocket.

Georgina is right about misreading the example. It's not that you can't pay for the entire purchase with the certificates, it's that they are telling you it's possible to combine ithem with cash if you are short.
