Today in my email I received a referrral offer to receive $50 in reward dollars for each person that signs up through my email and that person receives $200 reward dollars. My question is, has anyone received the bonus for someone in the same household? Also, how long does it take to receive this type of bonus?
TIA

We have done the bonus, one spouse using the other's referrals. I think it was after the first statement closed before we got the referral bonus.

I received the same offer yesterday. Although I didn't happen to notice the part about the friend getting $200. Sure enough when scrolled down the email today it's there. Looks like DW will be getting a Visa and combined, we get $250!

I got the same offer yesterday via email.

It doesn't matter if you are in the same household. I know when I signed up for the Disney Visa a few years ago (same type of promotion, but sis had the referral code), me and the rest of the family members all applied for it, was approved, spent our $500 each in 3 months and each got a $200 disney gift card.

I have received this same offer in my emaile and have tried reading the fine print but do not see an answer to my question. We got a Disney card a couple years ago via a referral from a fellow DIS member. That card is due to expire in october and I was just thinking that I need to get a new one. Would I be able to "refer" my wife for this offer and then cancel the card in my name or will that somehow void the rewards part of the referral. Has anyone done this. If I have to we'll just have two, one in each of our names but I'd rather just have one to keep track off.

If you cancel your Disney Visa, any rewards that are associated with the account are lost. The account must be open and in good standing for you to be able to use your rewards dollars.

And to add to Mrionnette's post, that includes any rewards that were transferred to a Rewards card. Before I closed my Premier Visa, I transferred all rewards dollars to a rewards card and then used that card to purchase a Disney gift card from DisneyGiftCard .com.

Thanks Marionnette. Eighty8Keys that was going to be my next question if I could just redeem the rewards on my account and then cancel. I will make sure to wait to redeem all rewards that have been building the last year on my account for a rewards card and make sure I use all those rewards before canceling my card, I see no reason to keep two cards for the long term.
