Disney Visa Questions

We have a party of 11 that will be travelling in late June/early July. I'm the only one in my party that has an active Disney Visa card. Can I use just that one card to grant all 11 of us access to the character M&G at HS and EPCOT? Thanks.

"Must present a valid Disney Visa Card for entry for up to 6 people per cardmember account (each cardmember account may be used for entry only one time per day)."

I pay for a lot of stuff with mine to earn points. Hulu/Disney+ are extra points... But the interest is crazy so it's not a card you want to accumulate debt on.

I'm pretty sure I saw someone confirm there is no longer a minimum purchase amount of $50 in the parks when using the Disney visa. I want to say it was in the budget boards area, but maybe someone here has experience.

We were in WDW in January and there was no longer a minimum purchase amount so we used it for many purchases of less than $50.

My wife and I both have one and it has come in handy. We use it as a savings account for our Disney trips. We have the "premium" card so accrue more points. We're about to cash in on $1400 or so worth of points for a big trip in May, so hey, not too shabby. Plus we got our hotel for 35% off with the Disney Visa (they will occasionally run CDV only room discounts) and will definitely use the various percent discounts at retail, dining and Joffreys while we're there. All-in-all it'll save us quite a bit of money. Plus, I friggin love my Darth Vader card haha.

Thanks. But just to be safe, my wife might be getting a new credit card lol
I have the debit card because I do my banking with Chase anyway, it gets all the same perks as the CC minus the (lousy) rewards earning. It might be worth looking into it, maybe snag a new account bonus too (sorry I'm talking like a churner now...)

As far as the photos are concerned I have not had to show my physical card the last few times we have stopped by.

I have been able to show the card that is stored on the Apple Wallet. I don’t bring a purse and park bag is full so we never bring wallets so it’s nice to know we can still partake in the photo experience.

Do you still need to spend $50 to get the merch discount? I have looked at the chase website and cannot find it.

Sorry don't use the card except when I can get 5% back in certain categories and we get 20% off with DVC.

It appears they changed it according to the disneyrewards.com site and have lifted the $50 minimum purchase.

When we were there in June, it worked for any amount. I bought a $9 item and got the discount. I believe the $50 minimum went away at the beginning of the year.

That is certainly smart on Chase's end as people are more likely to get a few things here and there and get the discount.

Or that piece of clothing that was $49.99 lol

I finally broke down and got a Disney Visa card. Accumulating points seems pretty straightforward. And I assume I can redeem points by getting what, I assume, is a card akin to a Disney gift card. Is that correct?

Also, are there any other benefits? I see there is a cardholder meet and greet areas at Epcot and HS. I think I know where those are in those parks. And I see resort discounts periodically for card holder. Are there any other benefit I should be aware of? Thanks!
For the record - as far as rewards go the Disney Visa's are objectively very bad cards. You are getting 1% with some very limited 2%. There are many many cards at there for no fee which give you at least 2% back on everything. It's fine to hold the card for the limited perks (and for those times when they'll limited time 5% earning in certain categories) - but it's a really bad card to put most spending on if you're trying to get as much back in rewards as possible.

Sure - you can say "but it forces me to save for Disney" which is true but for the most part - by the time you've earned $100 Disney dollars you'd have earned $200 cash back on a different card which you could put away in an account. . .

In general - if you're interested in rewards cards - 2% back is the absolute minimum you aim for.

Agree, have posted about this before. I only have it for potential resort discounts, I have other upgraded Chase cards for much better cash back. And only the free version, DO NOT pay for the Platinum.
