Disney Visa Question

I applied for the Disney Visa the first day over the internet. Then they sent me a letter saying they needed me to send them an Utility Bill, Telephone Bill, and a copy of my husbands Social Security card. I called them and they said they do this because of security reasons. DH says he does not want to send out that much info through the mail. I'm thinking maybe I missed up something on the application because we have several Credit cards, some platinum and we just bought a new house and was told our credit history was flawless. My question is did this happen to anyone else and did you send the info or should I just apply again?

This did not happen to us :(. Sounds a little fishy to me. We've never been asked for that when applying for a credit card either. Is there a phone number listed to call for questions? I would call and talk to a "real" person.

We did not have that happen to us but I think it may be because you have just moved into a new house and they want verification that you really live at that house. That would explain the request for utility and phone bill but as far as SS card I'm not sure. I would not send a copy of my SS card through the mail. Maybe they could give you a number to fax it to or if you send it request a signed return receipt so you know it was received.

Don't send anything without checking with Bank One first. It sounds like a scam to me. I've never heard of anyone asking for such things. Be very careful.

This happened to us!

We just moved in September. Most credit card companies usually request this information if you have moved within the previous year. They asked me for the exact same information. I sent it out about 3 weeks ago. I called a few days ago to see if they had gotten my info and if there were any more problems and the person I talked to gave me an automated system to call to check on the status of my card. I called, and it said I was approved and should receive my card in 5-10 business days. I wouldn't worry about this, it is a pretty standard procedure if you have moved recently.

This happened to us. Just how you said. We own more then one property. I think that is why they asked it of us.
We gave them the info. only copies.
I just got a call from them a few days ago saying we were accepted and we should get our card soon.

This happened to my mother. We haven't moved since 1991. She has excellent credit. She called about this & she was told without the info she wouldn't be able to get the card. She was asked for a copy of her SS# CARD, a utility bill, & copies of tax bills to prove where we live. This all came to us in a letter. How would we have recieved the letter if we didn't live here? We thought it was a scam & didn't send the information. Maybe it's because we have good credit?
