I have a Disney Visa card, and we are putting our up coming trip on it. Does anyone know the percentage that you get back in Disney money?

TIA!

$1 for every $100.

Wow... So that means that if my entire trip costs $8,000 I get $800 to spend in Disney?? Am I doing that right? I'm a blonde... Math is not my strong point!! LOL

ETA - Do they have a cap that they won't go above?

um, no.....that would be 10%....not 1%.

1% is $80.

If you upgrade to a Disney Premier card, you get 2% back for Disney purchases, grocery stores (or anywhere that sells groceries like Target, Walmart, etc...), and restaurants. You have to pay $49 for the upgraded card, but if you use it enough, it is worth it. We have accrued nearly $900 in Disney reward dollars just since March.

So, you've charged $45K on that card in the last 8 months???

Likely more than 45K. 2% is only on certain categories. We have the Disney Visa at 1% and we have accumulated almost the same amount since March. So it is very possible.

I'm waiting for my Year End statement to see if the upgrade is worth it for us. Last year it would have been a break-even.

ok then in your case you would have had to charge nearly $90K in that time...what did you have to charge that added up to roughly $10K a month?

I'm guessing you can't charge your mortgage, so did you have college tuition....major medical bills....charge the full value of a car? Just curious cause that's crazy spending amounts for most people.

If your charging well over $100K a year on a CC -- I'm pretty sure you'll well recoup the $49 annual fee on the premier card -- probably in the 1st month.

Much of our spending is business related, so not as much in the way of groceries and gas as you might think. Some (not all) of our insurance companies will allow us to charge the premiums on our card. We also pay our utilities on the card.

Other people have business expenses and are reimbursed through their company. My brother accumulates many, many points because he travels for work. Most of his expenses are covered by his employer.

Anything we would normally buy, we charge and just pay it off every month. We look at the points as free Disney money!

You may want to look at one of the other Chase cards (Ink Bold, Plus, and/or Sapphire). You can still use the points at 1% to pay to your credit card bill but what's better is that you get up to a 50,000 point sign on offer after you meet a minimum spend limit. Some categories get 5% on points too.

Same here. We only do purchases, household expenses & utilities (not business expenses like above), but easily put on $6-$10K a month, and pay it off each month. We charge $250 in gas a week alone, some weeks more. $200 in groceries, over $1K in utilities - it adds up! DH travels weekly for work & they allow him to put all the flight & hotel expenses on our card, then reimburse him, so that really adds up. We have over $1K in points sitting there for the next trip!
