Disney Visa Perks On Board

While onboard (as in once onboard if you use the VISA), I don't believe there are any. But, if you book and pay for the entire cruise using the Disney VISA, you can get a $50 beverage credit applied to your onboard account.

You have to apply a discount code when you make the reservation to get it, however.

Above is correct, there are no actual perks of the Disney Visa card while onboard -- no shopping discounts, etc. If you use your Disney Visa to pay off your onboard account, you will earn reward points towards your next vacation. Or as PP mentions, if the full cruise is paid on the Disney Visa (even if paid in installments) you may qualify for a $50 beverage credit if you aren't booked under a discount offer already.

Correct! BUT... if you pay an onboard credit in advance, that DOES qualify for 0% financing!

So if I wanted to put a $500 credit in advance, that would be 0%? What happens if I don't spend all $500? Is that issued back to me in some way?

Any credit you put on your onboard account in advance is refundable and will be refunded to the original form of payment. So you would get a credit on your Visa.

We always prepay the gratuities on the visa so those are included in the 6 months, too!

Correct, you call DCL or your TA can do it. Yes, it must be done before the cruise if you want to take advantage of the Disney Visa 0% finance offer; or you can simply use any payment method to cover onboard charges. That is usually set-up during online check-in and confirmed at port, but I believe you can change payment methods at the port check-in or even onboard.
